Many movies that are based on a great story/concept are ruined when they waste time trying to get us to know and care for the characters.

I agree, I don't need character development for a movie like this. They're Navy sailors, probably have a wife and kids at home, and just want to complete their mission and get back safe. Just put me in the situation and show me the tension, stress, and courage associated with it.

Worth the watch. It was entertaining, effectively used its runtime, and showed a side of the war that doesn't get much coverage in film.

yea i watched it last night and though, as a war movie, it was great.
