I agree. Went through a phase for a bit when I had a two jobs day/night. Got up to 800-1000 mils a day but still felt like I was dragging arse. Cut myself way back again, and now the highest caffeine days are exercise days.

I have taken a "stim-free" pre that still helped with focus. But even those can have a tolerance built to them. That's a problem as old as humanity, tbh.

I think it's best to cycle off if preworkouts every few months, maybe take like 2 to 3 weeks off of the heavy stims and get back on.

There's supposedly some science out there that adrenal fatigue isn't real, but I feel like it is from personal experience. I have a job that requires me to be mentally attentive all day so I'm no stranger to 1g of caffeine in a day to push through. When I'm pushed at work and build up that tolerance, I'm just tired all day even with the caffeine (which I think is adrenal fatigue) so I try to cycle off of it for a few weeks at a time every now and then.
