If you eat something that contains x amount of carbs or calories, but then shite out the whole object, did you really just intake said carbs and calories?
For example: peas and corn

Probably time to see a gastro.

It actually draws calories out of you. So corn actually helps you lose weight.

You’ve never shite out whole corn or peas?
I’m thinking you need to see a gastro.

Humans can’t digest corn. It’s mostly cellulose like celery... you’d need multiple stomachs like a cow to do so. That’s why the corn comes out whole. It’s considered a negative calorie food.

Whole ones? Nope.
Skins? Yep.

They looked whole enough for me to assume
Posted on 7/2/20 at 8:41 pm to tigerman03
Maybe some of them come out whole, but not all of them. It's not like you shite out an entire ear of corn.

What?
No.
You can't digest the hull entirely but you do extract some carbs from it.

I think people forget that calories in context of diet are the measurement of energy your body gets from food, and think of foods "containing" calories independent of that, so in that line of thinking celery having 5 calories per 100g, no way you don't burn that off, right?

No, I haven’t, and neither have you. What appears to you to be the whole corn kernel has actually been leached of it’s calories and nutritional parts.

Yeah, it's asinine. Even celery has like 5 calories per 100g

For example celery might be 5 calories, and you might only burn less than 1 calorie in the processes of chewing and digesting it. However, the rest of your body keeps going while you're eating, and for an average sized man that means burning 1.25 calories per minute at rest. If you spend 3 or 4 minutes eating a stalk of celery, you might be around net zero or negative calories when you're finished.
I mean just imagine getting all your daily calories from eating nothing but hundreds of stalks of celery. If I started at breakfast, I'm pretty sure I'd be ready for bed before I finished eating them all.

Subtract the dietary fiber.

Humans without teeth maybe. Sweet corn is easily digested by the human body if you take the time to chew it first.
