Yeah, the Bengals are mishandling this. I don't care if Burrow is ahead of the other rookies, or even ahead of some of the offensive starters. He's not intended as depth, he was taken #1 in the draft with the intention of making him your starter. I get going at a pace that doesn't overwhelm him, but if he's clearly digesting things and asking for more, you give him that.

I think you missed the point of the OP. They are not slowing him down for his benefit. The OC said the other groups are not up to speed where he is at and they have to catch up.

Let's put the brightest kid in with everyone else and make him go slowly also (hope that is not the reasoning)...on the other hand, let Jeaux's teammates see how smart he is and realize he is The Man to lead them.

I got that.

You know who else is ahead of the rest of the offense? Drew Brees with the Saints. Heck, he's probably ahead of half the offensive coaching staff. And that's good, because he can correct the players lining up, audible to a better play, etc.

For group meetings, yeah, ease back Joe. Stay on the same page as the group. But the coaches should give him everything he can handle right now, and wait until practice and camp meetings to throttle it in.

It doesn't matter if he's further ahead in the offense than his WR, as long as he has a feel on where that WR is at. He's the QB, he's the hub in this.
