They as in the Iowa writers or posters?

HUDL

Scouting Report:

quote:

Looks good on the hoof. Tall, long, good start as far as muscle and filling out the frame, but still has some work to do there. Plays outside a lot in high school as essentially a big wide receiver and also in the slot. Very comfortable running routes and catching the ball. Basketball player with good ball skills and body control. Uses length and frame to go up and win jump balls. Must get stronger and get used to playing as an in-line blocker as we imagine he will be asked to do that more in college. New age tight end who will be able to play in any system in many different spots in different formations. Strength will determine how early he plays but a top-end receiver at the position. Has a chance to be one of college football's best tight ends and an early draft choice.

Those were early on picks to get points it seems. He was Fong'd as well to Nebraska but LSU seems to be surging.

Fidone is on another level as a route runner
Just go check out his camp film

He is almost like a wide receiver, that's how smooth he is

I am surprised we are in this good of shape with him. I'm pretty excited about this.

Especially considering: (A) He's from Iowa (albeit, he's much closer to Lincoln than Iowa City); (B) Iowa has produced some high quality NFL TEs lately; and (C) We just signed two TEs in 2020, including the highest-rated TE recruit ever.

This speaks volumes about our staff's abilities.

I'm just saying he got CBed to Nebraska yesterday. A visit would greatly help a flip or commit.

Don't be surprised if they're recruiting him to be both a TE and a wide receiver, eg Gilbert. Being able to break out to wideout will stifle our opponents for years to come.

If we get a top TE from Iowa, with the history of the Hawkeyes putting TEs in the league, then this tells you where we are recruiting nationwide.

LSU or Nebraska.......
Is there really a decision he needs to think about?
Should be an easy one

No back 7 in America could handle Gilbert and Fidone in the formation.

Would be a pick of poison.
