Did the Democrats succeed in Trump's first 4 years?

I would say they did. They effectively stunted his agenda and he's spent way more time fighting for his political life than doing his job.
Damn shame. This will only get worse after a win in November. They will literally lose their minds and it will be 24/7 anti Trump everything on every tv channel.
Amazing he's accomplished what he has in this environment but sad to think what the country could have looked like right now if he was treated like a normal president.

They succeeded in showing their true colors. Whether or not enough people have noticed or care will be the question come November.

Not really
The dems are all out at preventing a Trump re-election...they are extremely scared at what will be once Trump is re-elected

They succeeded in doing what they do , nothing . So I guess they are successful.

It's been 24/7 hate OUR PRESIDENT since election day, it can't get any worse. Just more of the same. They have thrown the book at him all this time.

I'm extremely scared of what they are going to do once it happens. This George Floyd stuff is just a taste IMO.

Absolutely....they kept him from doing very much (outside of taxes) in the 2 years where he had both chambers of Congress and successfully took a very difficult to break majority in the House and then after that basically stiffed him from doing anything meaningful outside of trade (and they even pushed through pretty much what they wanted on that).
ETA On the COVID response they have gotten him to spend even more so than most recent Democrats did.

I guess if you call burning your own cities, "defunding the police", calling a garage pull down rope a "noose" and trying to pull down a statue of Abraham Lincoln erected by freed slaves signs of success. Then yea, total success.

Paul Ryan was definitely their MVP. No one should support that joke.

From this point forward, every GOP POTUS will be attacked relentlessly on all fronts by every entity controlled by the Left. The attacks will begin as soon as the Candidacy is announced and will continue until after they leave office.
Dem-controlled entities have branded the GOP as the Fascist Party. They will issue much propaganda to keep that narrative rolling. This makes sense because the US Democratic Party is now the US Marxist Party.
Isn't it funny how history repeats? Russia, 1918. Germany, 1921. Spain, 1936. USA, 2020. Big countries are challenged by Bolshevik Radicals, and they either fend off the attack or succumb, and these fights are always a Fight to the Death.
I wonder if the GOP realizes what kind of fight is being waged on them and their base? I honestly think: 1) they don't; 2) even if they did, they haven't got nearly the balls necessary to win that Fight.
I expect the GOP to throw down their mics and word processors and run away as fast as they can! ON the other hand, though, they may just Surrender and collaborate with the Left in exchange for a book deal that bashes the GOP Fighters.
ONLY ONE MAN CAN SAVE US. TRUMP 2020.

In making asses of themselves, yes.

Absolutely.
They have taken their true goals (censorship, destroying America from within, embracing foreign enemies) up several notches and succeeded.

Look at what's in public school text books and being taught at public colleges (largely without any controversy).
Yes they succeeded and are continuing to succeed. That's not on Trump any more than Bush or others, but when you can go on CNN or into a public college classroom and speak about how believing in biological sex is actual violence against trans people, and nobody runs you out of the building, then I'm not sure if I really care about tax cuts.

Trump was failed by the same system that got him elected.
People have a fundamental problem with government. There is an independent section of people in the country that honestly does not want one party to have the power so for that reason they purposely elect opposite Representatives to offset the Senate.
There was no way that they were going to give the Republicans the House, Senate and the Presidency.
Which really does not make sense when you see all the RED on the map?

I think most of the GOP are comfortable being in the minority. They don’t have to shite and can bitch and moan about it. There is a pecking order Trump upset.

They used a very effective fixing operation.
It doesn't hurt that Clinton started and Obama finished weaponizing many organs of the Federal government against their political opponents (aided by poor, dumb George W. Bush who acceded to their silly Patriot Act demands which facilitated further consolidation under Obama).
The left has undertaken a fairly comprehensive takeover of American life, begun at the best of the Soviets all the way back to COMINTERN, systematically taking down anything unionized, media-related, academia, ultimately most large urban governments and many state and federal agencies, including the IC.
Our cultural heritage as a nation and the very language we use has been weaponized against anything that isn't radically left, redistributive and identitarian.
Trump may have been the only person at that moment in history (2016) who could have slowed this down. But, they are most definitely off to the races - they simply hold too many cards. Unless the voters push back hard this Fall (and I mean in Congress, too), it's all over.

I'm both excited and slightly afraid to see how Trump acts after he's re-elected.
