My Dad.... Me and my brothers would sit around the radio on Sat. nights in our living room like most everyone else during that era and listen to John Ferguson's play by play. Those were the days! Not only was he an awesome human being he was my best friend. Glad he was around for the best football season in the long history of LSU football. His best story was being in Tiger stadium to witness Billy Cannon's TD vs. Ole Miss in 1959. So proud to have had him as a Father and role model. I'll miss him every day. So grateful that we were able to visit on Father's Day and hug one last time. Props to you Pops for a life well lived. What a great journey we had together. For all you fellow RANTARDS - cherish every day and spend as much time w family as you can! We lost a great Tiger tonight.

Sorry for your loss...the old timers Look back at the Cannon era as a mythical time in LSU football history much like the young adults will look at the Burrow era 50 yrs from now! Your dad got to see 2 great era's of LSU football....may his soul be lifted up to the kingdom of heaven to look over his children and grandchildren till y'all meet again..

I lost my father on April 6th this year. My father introduced me to Tiger football with Ferguson on the play by play. WWL radio. He went to LSU in the early 50s. Although I Live in the Midwest (after graduating from LSU) I watched all Tiger games for the past 20 years with a set of headphones on with a conference call with my brother and my father. We always made it to one home game and the Bowl game each year. I feel your loss.

May this prayer bring the comfort it has given me:
The departed, whom we now remember, have entered into the peace of life eternal. They still live on earth in the acts of goodness they performed and in the hearts of those who cherish their memory. May the beauty of their life abide among us as a loving benediction:

Sorry for your loss. Lost my dad 3 years ago and would give anything just to spend the day and watch a LSU game with him. Miss him dearly.
You are right. Cherish the time you have with loved ones. You will never get the time back.

I feel for you.
Prayers for you and your family.
My dad was in the stadium in 1959 too! What memories they both share.
Hope he, my dad and all other Tiger fans, former players, coaches are having a grand time up in Heaven talking about the 2019 Tigers!
