Before I list Wishlist of OOC power 5 opponents
I think we should schedule 2 OOC power 5 per Year.
It’s a strong flex.
No one else is daring to do that.
We don’t have to pick the Dukes of the Acc but we also don’t have to schedule Clemson.
One of the games is in Death Valley the other is a road game.
Imagine a year we play USC and Mich
FSU and UCLA
Rutgers and Notre Dame
Nebraska and Penn State

So is playing in the SEC West and Florida yearly. Play one good OOC game per year and take the other 3 buffer games.

Agreed but with playoff expansion on the horizon you will be able to afford to lose a game maybe even 2 losses will get you in playoff.
Also, as a fan I want MORE excellent games, not less.
It will only help LSU to take this leap. And to do it first would be dynamic.

Yeah no thanks. Clemson, Oklahoma, and Ohio st. have pretty much automatic bids every year due to a shitty conferences. Why would we make it even harder for us to make it to the playoff by scheduling more tough OOC games?

I don't know why anyone would want to make it more difficult to make the playoffs. People crap on the SEC for playing cupcakes and only 8 conference games, but that formula is working very well.
With that said, I'd take a 9th conference game over adding another P5 game. It would be nice to play Georgia, Tennessee and USC more often. But that's not happening without a playoff expansion.

Clemson 2019 schedule
GaTech 3-9
Tx A&M 8-5
Syracuse 5-7
Charlotte 7-6
UNC 7-6
FSU 6-7
Louisville 8-5
BC 6-7
Wofford 8-4 fcs
NC St 4-8
Wake 8-5
S.Car 4-8
and then conference championship vs juggernaut Virginia
What a f'ing joke. LSU's 2nd string could sleepwalk through that schedule undefeated.

I wouldn't agree to anything till the playoff committee is investigated. Still can't fathom they propped up every single big 10 team to make Ohio State look better just to justify dropping LSU to number 2.
Luckily after LSU beatdown GA it took several committee members to leave and new ones to replace just to get LSU the nod.
But it took some serious coordination and manipulation to justify Ohio State at number 1 when they played a weak schedule.

Rutgers may be terrible but I like the idea of going catch a game an hour from NYC

Until other teams are doing it I don’t see why LSU should put themselves at a disadvantage in terms of their schedule. They already are by being in the SEC west and forced to play Florida every year.

Look at teams future OOC schedules. Lots of teams are playing 2 p5 starting in the mid 2020s. In 2028 Georgia has Florida state,Texas, and Georgia tech for example.

Arguably the worst program in any P5 conference

Bad idea, LSU always plays a tough schedule every year!

I’m not against it. And get rid of SECCG while you flexing
Posted on 6/22/20 at 10:26 am to SoCalTigah
I'm so with you on the 2 P5 OOC, but the reality is that it's probably a disadvantage to schedule like that without an expanded playoff. if there was a 8/16 team playoff, it'd allow for intense scheduling like that so that 2 loss teams with super tough SOS's to stay alive.

Exactly
Also note the schools I listed are not on par with OSU, Clemson, Oregon, etc
Looon what we did to OU. We smashed them late in the season.
Also, as a fan I want more options of games that are exciting to watch.
I understand our in Conf schedule is tough but as the playoffs expand we will need 2 OOC P5 games.
Lastly, all the teams I listed are places we would all want to visit as fans in our lifetime for Home and Home. I’m sure their fans would love to check out Death Valley.
Regarding Rutgers, that location was based purely on recruiting and going to NYC for tge weekend :)
