The wife and I are going to Disney World Nov. 30th thru Dec 7th. I need to start making some advanced reservations.
What are some of the places you would not miss?
Price not an issue

1. the second floor french restaurant in Epcot (France, obviously)
.
.
.
.
.
the rest in no particular order:
- Cinderella's palace (if you've never done it before)
- Mexico
- Italy
- Some people love Canada.
- there's a pretty cool place in the Animal Kingdom hotel.
- Morocco has belly dancers once an hour at dinner time, and they can be pretty hot. Only problem is that the food sucks arse.
- the restaurant in the "the seas" thing at Epcot is kinda cool
- there are a couple of restaurants in the Grand Floridian that (I'm told) are good. One is coat and tie, tho.
- there's a luau at the polynesian that might be cool.
My wife and I will be there at the same time. I need to get on this shite as well.

Ohana is the best place I have dined at WDW. Its at the Polynesian. They will feed you more than you can possibly eat. I got a reservation for the time of the fireworks and requested a window view.. The food is great and its served kinda buffet style like Texas De Brazil etc. Its a decent value at 26 pp too. Impossible to eat all the food they throw at you.. But that place and the California Grill are the two best places to eat. Cali Grill may be still closed though to renovations but for viewing fireworks its the best place there.
PS if you go with just your wife then get reservations at Ohana 1.5 hours before the fireworks then after dinner walk down to the beach and grab a hammock to watch the fireworks..
Also here is a tip.. If you stay offsite dont pay to park at the theme parks just drive to the nearest resort and park there. Its free to park at the resorts.. If there is a guard just tell them you are touring the resort of eating there. If they give you a 2 hour parking pass just display it and park (They dont tow or ticket anyone if you go over 2 hours)

Thats good
BTW. What time do the frieworks go off at Magic Kingdom, I assume those are the fireworks you are talking about. I am assuming it depends on what time the park closes that night.
Also, how many of these hammocks are there, is it easy to get one

Make sure to check the time of the fireworks that night or even if they have them.. Some nights they are at 9 some they are at 10. There are scheduled all over the web.

Well we were in the restaurant when they had the fireworks so Im not sure if it was crowded down there. There are probably about 8 hammocks on the trees but there may be more on the other side of the beach Im not sure. We went down to the beach after and its very nice most people are at the parks at that time.. If I went back I would love to stay at that resort. But anyone can visit any resort which is nice. Firework times vary by week. Check this site out its probably the best for WDW planning you can find..

1. Italian Restraunt in Italy, Epcot.
2. 50s Prime Time Diner.
3. Whispering Canyon at The Wilderness Lodge
4. Beaches and Cream at The Beach Club Resort
5. Liberty Tree Tavern
Those are our favs.
We hate:
1. Coral Reef at Epcot
2. Norway restraunt at Epcot
Most overated:
....Cinderella's Royal Table.....Great experience for "young" kids(under 7), but the food is subpar.

Had a pretty good steak at their steakhouse joint. But that was 2002.

I agree. My daughters had fun because they are young and into the princess thing but the food is definitely not worth the price. Boma in the Animal King Lodge is great.

You're starting a little late. Most of the better restaurants will already be booked. You can forget Le Cellier. Ohana might also be unavailable. The other suggestions listed here are all pretty good. Your best bet would be to call and see what's available.

He is going at one of the slowest times of the year. I doubt he will have trouble

I'll second Ohana's. Just remember to save a little room for the bread pudding.

california grill...15th floor of contemporary resort
menu changes every month...here is April '08
restaurant link
my advice would be to make a reservation absed around when the fireworks show is in magic kingdon
if wishes is at 9:00, maybe get a 9:30 reservation (if time permits) so it gives you time to get to the restaurant and go on to their observation deck and watch the fireworks from the top of the contemporary resort
if that is too late, they do dim the lights inside and pump the sound from magic kingdom into the dining area and on the observation deck
views from observation deck
