Any insurance agents out there?

Got an invite from a friend to sell insurance at her firm. She says she makes great money doing it and enjoys working with different people every day. I'm in a transition period so I'm thinking about it. But I'd like to hear from more people what it's like out there.
Do you enjoy your job? Do you hate it? What are your likes/dislikes about being an agent?

People calling in constantly asking if their policies cover looting.

I’m an agent that sells P&C, Health and Life. I own my own agency, the compensation is amazing and I love my job. Ask me anything

I opened a year ago, north of 175k YTD. But 800k is 100% possible if you grow and are with the right company.

WOW....
what company do you sell for?

I’d say go for it. The freedom it provides is great. The industry is also immune to things like covid. I’m only 33, and on track for 340k plus this year.

I’m in insurance. It is tough to get started but once you do, you are set.

I did it for a few months when I first moved to Kansas. I would say to not do it unless you have a lot of connections in the area. Also know a lot about the company going in. It can definitely be a good gig but you have to help yourself starting out.
FWIW: I hated it but cold-calling and such isn’t my cup of tea.
ETA: if I were to do it now that I’ve been here for a while I probably would have enjoyed it more since I know way more people.

If you have a base salary plus commission it is steady and comfortable but keep in mind that EVERYONE has their own idea of how insurance is supposed to work and you will be lectured by your customers all day long on how to do your job.
The money can be great but it can also be terrible. It depends on YOU.
I’m on my own and can tell you that there are fantastic months then there are shitty months. I had my best month ever last month and so far this month is my worst month ever. Just the way the cookie crumbles.
Overall, I enjoy it.
