I'm against renaming streets for no good reason unless they are in the neighborhoods of those who commplain.
It's an undue burden on those who live on those streets to have to change their address on all documents, especially businesses.
Screw that and those who support it.

Glad to know that NOLA is always taking care of the real problems facing the city. Tearing down statues and renaming streets will certainly stop all of the crime going on in the city

Somebody tell her about General Bourbon from Alabama.

Nope, and yet she sure did try and lecture Trump on effective emergency response during Covid.
Those in collapsed glass houses, mayor...

The House of Bourbon had a lot more to do with slavery than any confederate officer ever did.

The costs to businesses and residents of changing them never crossed her mind

What are these costs? Updating the address on their website? $3.50. Next.

Glad my street is named after a tree.

There isn't a single business owner between the Mayor and the city council. One might have flipped houses in Algiers in her spare time. All "public service employees" a journalist, one attorney who managed to pass the bar and non-profit workers/community organizers.

Hey, what area of New Orleans do you live in? Oh, I stay at the corner of Dindu and Nuffin streets.

Encouraging your remaining "racist" tax base to get out of the city.

Yeah. That’s it. Couple of clicks on your wordpress site and you’re good to go. You got CEO potential written all over you.

Educate me. Smart guy. What would it cost a business if their street address changed?

What would it cost? Well that depends on the business, their size, and number of customers/vendors, etc.
What needs to be changed physically?
- Printed materials
- Signage
- Checks
What needs to be updated?
- Banking information
- Accounts receivables
- Accounts payables
- Customers
- Vendors/suppliers
- Government entities
- Delivery services
All those cost time and money, and can lead to lost revenue.

She's a tax paying citizen. She should have a right to rename things.
Oh. Wait....
Oh. Wait....

Never mind. I thought you were actually going to give us some reasons this would be a big burden. Carry on.
