I'm always hesitant to go as far as KD because you never know from highlights how good a shooter he actually is. He reminds me a lot of Matthew Hurt from Duke's team this year too.
He's a good athlete, but damn, he needs some muscle badly.

Early in the vid he rips the ball from that kid, gets smacked in the head while finishing his dunk, and talks mad shite in homeboys face. He’s got a nasty streak and I dig it.
He does remind me of KD a bit. Obviously he will eventually be able to put on some weight & muscle, but I wonder if he will gain a bit more quick twitch that he really needs. He’s obviously going to be a player though at the college level, and he looks to have been really well coached.

His release is way too slow right now and he gets no elevation on his shots. He'd be eaten alive at the higher levels

I would say think more Anthony Davis than KD. Holmgren doesnt quite have the perimeter skills KD did in HS but he is much more of a menace on the defensive end. The first time I saw Holgren was against Jalen Cook and the Louisiana Elite last summer in AAU. Dude literally blocked everything around him and finished with like 7 or 8 in the game (a regular thing for him). As others have noted he desperately needs to gain weight at this point. He is even more slightly built than KD or AD at this stage and cant be expected to battle down low with the likes of Joel Embiid or Bam Adebayo unless he puts on 30-50 lbs. But he is a very good player from what ive seen.
It is also worth noting that Holgren got the #1 ranking somewhat by default as the original #1 2021 prospect Jonathan Kuminga reclassed into the 2020 class a few days ago.
