I have a sticky holster but would like another option that gives a bit more stability but without a belt. I rarely wear belts

Previously I've infrequently used Remora holsters for what you describe, but only for a very brief time. I always wear a belt, unless wearing certain shorts at the house. Those shorts are to light to hold up a gun on the waistband. Now when I need to "grab a gun" to run to the store or some other brief event and I'm beltless, I grab a gun/holster for pocket carry. I never developed confidence in Remora or Sticky to use them regularly. Why not wear a belt? Of course, you could wear suspenders to hold your pants up and possibly carry a clip type holster IWB or OWB and attach the holster to the waistband of your pants. I've never tried that w/ my IWB clip holsters. Maybe I'll give it a go and report back. I suspect the holster won't reliably stay on the beltless waistband during the pistol draw.

Does that q series hold well without a belt. The open area of the clip looks a bit large. I would think it would be ok with jeans but wouldn’t hold very tight on thinner material like a pair of casual shorts

It will definitely stay hooked on your pants. The clip will stay hooked on the bottom of the waistline seam. The only issue you'll encounter is that since you don't have a belt, it may cant to one side or the other. As far as retention goes, you shouldn't worry about it going anywhere.

JM4 Tactical. This holster works well for me in gym shorts. I also can wear it with a belt. The most comfortable holster I have

Just don’t. No real reason. I do when wearing tucked in shirts but that is mostly for work and I can’t carry there. Outside of work where I would normally carry I wear untucked shirts and just normally don’t wear belts with that style attire

This is simple. Wear a belt. It will help stabilize and secure most all IWB setups.

Chatrabbit suggested ulticlips in another thread. I ordered immediately. They look awesome.

Agreed but not quite what I was asking about. May not be optimal but there are non-belt options out there that may fit my need. Just looking for some input on them as I prefer not to wear belts.

Hey it’s your prerogative bro. I find this really weird tho. I don’t quite understand not wanting to wear a belt but clamping a much bigger and heavier gun to your pants is no problem. Let us know which holster you end up going with and how it works.
