And how did the mass media portray those events? Was it an evenhanded analysis of what was going on? Or was it treated as a catastrophic event that tore at the very fabric of this nation? Yep. This will be the EXACT retort to any suggestion the current situation chaos, etc. is indicative of Democratic rule. Their feeling is that they have no choice but to destroy shite, cause chaos, etc while DJT is the president. You're dead on right that this is akin to "hostage situation" and the narrative has to be presented as such

The irony is that the chaos won't go away even if DJT isn't reelected. That's because the media, Democrats, the numerous "victim" groups NEED division to sustain their identity. There's nothing to "revolt" against if there is no "villain". No "breaking news" if the news is all good. No "repressed" segment of society if everything is equal.

Their identity as a person is wholly and inextricably wrapped in (1) being a victim and/or (2) being a crusader for victims. If there is nothing to "fight" for then they have no identity as a person. Thus, there ALWAYS has to be a "wrong" to right. Victim to fight for. Case in point, for years the ultimate goal for homosexuals was the ability to marry under the law. Eventually, that battle was won. So what happened next? You saw a fight arise over gender and transsexuals where prior to gay marriage becoming legal that was NEVER an issue. In fact, the notion of a significant group people "identifying as a different gender" was patently absurd and largely the realm of the mentally ill.

The goal is not to win the battle. It's to always have a battle to fight

Democrats will win in November big time. Trump is getting blamed for Covid, the crashed economy and the racial tensions. His own government is rebelling against him and it is looking dysfunctional. Biden may be the only avenue to peace. I am very disappointed in Trump now and I think a lot of his supporters are as well.
