The chain of command is a sacred thing and officers are obviously part of that chain of command and Mattis was an officer.
Mattis once said that he would not criticize a sitting President and now he's going back on his word because he can't get into the cocktail parties in DC.

You can argue that he didn’t directly order the aggressive moves by police, but do you think he was going to cross the street with people there protesting?
Seems pretty divisive to me.

I don't know what the motivations of Mattis are but I don't think he's a Comey.
I do think he has a romanticized view of the American public, and ignores that 20% of this country wants to see its foundational ideals eliminated. Those people should not be categorized the same as other Americans.

I think he knows that the people who hate him will hate him regardless of what he does, and that’s been proven ad nauseam. I point to reactions (or lack thereof) to Obama because it exposes exactly what is being criticized. It’s not that he’s beyond criticism, but if they ignored or adored similar behavior in the Halfrican Messiah then I understand what their real problem is.

On their own, they would be absolutely no threat.
The problem is that too many people in the other 80% is giving aid and comfort to that 20% and is feeding them and making them more stronger and more powerful.
Mattis is one of those people.

I support the President invoking the Insurrection Act on a widespread basis, but he needs to shite or get off the pot.
