I'm currently around a 10 handicap, at my best my index was 6.3.

My distances are as follow (driver is total distance, but the others are carry, I have a lot of spin and get no more that 3-4 yards of roll-out with my 3 wood. I typically get around 2 yards with my 5 wood into a green):

Driver: 320 yards
3 Wood: 270 yards
5 Wood: 250 yards
4 Iron: 225 yards
5 Iron: 215 yards
6 Iron: 205 yards
7 Iron: 195 yards
8 Iron: 180 yards
9 Iron: 170 yards
PW: 155 yards
52°: 135 yards
56°: 125 yards
60°: 100 yards

My driver swing speed is 122-125 mph. I have always been able to hit the ball long, I just have never made enough of an effort to get consistent. My short game will be on fire and I can't hit long irons or drive worth a shite; then my long irons and driver will be on and my short game goes to shite.

Great example of my inconsistency was a few years back playing at Kelly Plantation in Destin. My front 9 was 8 over and back 9 I was even (two under after 10, 11, 12, 13), to finish the round at 8 over. And last year I was 3 under after 4 at CCL, then blew up big time on 5, and finished 4 over on the front.

My point is, there are plenty of long hitters out there, and being long off the tee doesn't mean you are a good golfer or a liar. It just means that you are long off the tee.

It’s easy for people to be skeptical online. And I don’t blame them. For instance, I’m curious about your lofts on your irons because a 20 yd gap from a 52° to a PW is a lot. If your 52° is only topped out at 135, then your 9i at 170 has to be at least 2° strong. And if your lofts are jacked, it skews those totals. The wood numbers are long but even those can be manipulated. Honestly, I don’t know why you would carry 3 clubs that fly over 250 if you’re just an Am playing 6500-7000 yd courses.

My driver speed is about 110 and translates to an average carry of about 260 taking into account misses and changes in wind. And people call me long. Right now, I’m driving it pretty well. I’ve had a few drives the last couple rounds the rolled out over 300. My 3W is my 250 club. I carry a 3H instead of a 5W for the 235 yardage.

The rest:

3i - 225
4i - 210
5i - 200
6i - 188
7i - 175
8i - 165
9i - 155
PW - 145
54° - 125
60° - 105

I’m a 2.5 cap right now. Play regularly. Love my 54 and PW and feel good about hitting controlled shots with those two which is why I don’t carry a 4th wedge. Also, I love that 3i off the tee. Hit a low bullet fairway finder as often as I can. Just can’t pull it from the bag. I’ve actually considered pulling the 4 if I ever needed another wedge or even the 3W depending on course and length.

That is long even for the PGA tour.

Please develop your short game. You’ve got legit top end fulfill swing talent that I would love to have.

Your best potential is way beyond what I can hope for realistically. Good luck working on this game which is only called golf because all of the really good four letter words were already taken.
