I predict this thread will soon be over run by people saying you need to do what the police say all the time.

The irony of course is the same people were saying you need to resist stay at home orders issued by the same police during quarantine.

If you were a police officer worried about being attacked by rioters and you were running into a riot would you want groups of people sitting on the sidelines?

The absolute convergence of these two opinions has been the only amusing thing to come out of the past few days

They shouldn’t have done it but it’s easy to understand why they did.

are we saying there isn’t a difference in what’s taking place the last few nights and those resisting Stay at Home Orders? Let’s shift those goal posts a bit

I’m not sure what I just watched. Look like a nice neighborhood with nothing going on. Those people were obviously standing at their front door. Were the being fired on by an unknown source and trying to limit the threat by sending people inside??? Just a guess.

That's not okay.

It just seems like all sides of this fiasco just keep finding ways to one yo each other in stupidity.

You're going to need more detail to convince me that someone peacefully sitting on their property/patio poses some sort of threat to officers.

Otherwise the "possibility" of threats to officers will be used in no shortage of crazy scenarios to take away civil liberties. Why not start going into random houses? They could be used as fortified positions to fire on police.

Something I can't seem to find a straight answer to is this; is this from a riot? Was this during covid 19 stay at home?

Nevermind

Finally found a non-bullshite answer.

Your lack of situational awareness comes as no surprise

Honestly, that would piss me the frick off if I’m chilling on my porch and get shot with a rubber bullet. Enough so that I might respond with lead...I’m old and just dgaf at this point.

More irony-in a thread about officers firing on innocent bystanders on their own property, you call me out about my lack of situational awareness.

CBS affiliate in Minneapolis reporting those were not police officers, they were the national guard deployed by the Governor to enforce the curfew.

It’s hard to balance “muh personal freedoms” with the constant need to lick boots.

Yeah let's go through a residential neighborhood and just shoot people. That will quell the riot.

Don't agree with them firing on innocent people but to conflate virus and riot restrictions/actions shows a complete lack of common sense.
