The atmosphere in 90% of casual dining in BR is the same.

Sweet. So does Tiger Paw Daiquiris. It doesn’t do much.

I mena I don’t Think Lava Cantina was anything special. Besides the time they gave me the squirts.

Imagine being at a point in life that you’re desperately searching for a place to fill the whole lava cantina left in your heart.

Lava cantina
They have one near Dallas. The owner moved there when they closed down here. My friends opened a Chris's Specialty Foods in Frisco, TX and he would come in all the time.

Last I went in Lava, it was more of a music theme. Records on the wall, music videos on tv.

The closest thing is the House of Blues.
Lava Cantina filled such an odd niche:
Rock n roll theme
Overpriced mediocre tex mex
Washed up has-been former big name bands
Tribute bands
Seems exclusively aimed at middle-aged honkeys.
I don’t know any other venue that’s really similar.
If you just want music videos, Rock n Roll Sushi does that. It’s the furthest thing from authentic, but their fried rolls are tasty. Last time I went, though, their rice wasn’t as good as I remembered, which is a problem for a sushi joint.
