With Stingley around Flott could end up getting more stats because teams will test him more.

Too many star gazers had Ricks penciled in opposite Stingley, but it'll be Cordale. Just imagine him with more meat on his bones and a year under his belt.
The DB room will be stupid with talent this season.

And we have them back for 2 more years. Ouch

I'll go on record now saying the DB not talked about much that'll have an impact next fall is S Jordan Toles. Coaches love this guy. He and Hampton are both Studs with a capital S.

Indiana's QB is named Penix? That is unfortunate.

He'll definitely get the opportunity to put up big numbers as teams will likely stay away from Stingley.
Assuming LSU can practice at some point, I'd line him up one-on-one against Chase as much as possible. He won't win every battle. In fact, he may not win 50% of the battles. But you'd have to imagine there won't be very many, if any, tougher covers he'd see all year.

I think the guy everyone is sleeping on is Dwight McGlothern. Go rewatch the Army AA game. Had 2 picks (one for a TD) and almost had a 3rd. Great size 6’2” 185lbs. Great instincts. Nose for the ball. Was mentored by Deion Sanders for a time. Probably would’ve ranked as a top 5 player at his position if he didn’t move around so much (4 different HS) ala Garrett Nuss.

Flott is definitely the leader in the clubhouse to start opposite Stingley.
I think Ricks may take some time to develop.
I really like Raydar Jones as well, but he too needs some development.

I like McGlothern too
Ricks looks like a future safety to me

He’s a little oversized for a corner in terms of height
He’s a bully.
Speed is good, not great on tape
Tho just about all his INTs come off of terrible passes, he very clearly has really strong ball ball skills.
Watch his tape. His best plays come in space, reading the QB, playing the ball.
Would be a great true free safety

You realize we've pretty much only taken tall corners the last 2 classes right?
Ricks - 6'3
Ward - 6'2
Flott - 6'2
Jones - 6'2
McGlothern - 6'2
Stingley - 6'1
That's from the roster, but Ricks was 6'2 in his recruiting profile.

How is 6’2 too big for corner
How many #1 overall CBs have moved to safety?

Though itll be unpopular, I watched his film plenty and actually agree with you here, strange as it feels...
Which people will take it as a bad thing, it really isn't. His skillset would fit much more nicely as a S and we are already loaded with good corners.
ETA: Its not just his height, he is a little thicker, and his highlights show more straight line plays instead of hip movement, like the interception Stingley made this year running with receivers, staying on their hips, then turning to locate the ball.
His play is straight line speed, toughness, and physicality - hed be a great centerfielder...

Before last year, if id have asked you how many QBs have transferred to LSU then went undefeated and broke every major offensive record in the books before winning a Heisman and then National Championship, no one would have guessed it either.
Just because something hasn't happened before doesn't directly mean that it can never happen. It may be unlikely, but it isn't impossible.

That's from the roster,
Exactly. So they are all 1” shorter than listed
Nothing wrong with bigger corners, but they have to be able to move efficiently. And the taller you are the harder that is.
The average height of CB’s measured at the combine since 1999 is 5’11”.
A 6’3” CB falls into the 98th height percentile.
A 6’2” CB falls into the 97th.
I’m sure he could be a big press corner in college & get away with it. Maybe in the pros too, and I’m completely off. Just moves like a safety to me

I think you missed the point there, they are all roughly the same height, not like Ricks is too tall to play corner, there are 6'4 corners in this conference (who are good). Height would have nothing to do with Ricks moving to safety. We have sub 6 foot safties on the team and one currently committed.
Ricks is very similar in height to Flott, Raydar, McGlothern, Ward, etc...
Not to mention Ricks was arguably the best pure corner to come out of high school this past year, I mean he's played corner through high school at a ridiculously high level
