Just a quick "who's who" for those of you that don't want to download rosters but want to name your Tigers. If you think I made an error, make a note of it and I'll correct it.

Quarterbacks
QB #14 -- Andrew Hatch, Junior (RS), 79 ovr
QB #12 -- Jarrett Lee, Freshman (RS), 78 ovr
QB #3 -- Jordan Jefferson, Freshman, 77 ovr
[[It seems like EA Sports has an opinion on who the better QB is at LSU... ]]

Halfbacks
HB #5 -- Keiland Williams, Junior, 89 ovr
HB #32 -- Charles Scott, Junior, 88 ovr
HB #26 -- Richard Murphy, Sophomore (RS), 83 ovr
HB #8 -- Trindon Holliday, Junior, 82 ovr
HB #28 -- R.J. Jackson, Junior (RS), 78 ovr
[[Richard Murphy got no love, Trindon Holliday's a HB...and WTF EA SPORTS, GIVE TRINDON HIS frickING 99 SPD RATING. At least he got 99 acceleration...anyway...]]

Fullbacks
FB #45 -- Quinn Johnson, Senior (RS), 78 ovr
FB #55 -- Kellen Theriot, Freshman, 75 ovr
[[Note: Theriot plays linebacker in real life. Thanks for the heads-up, Stagg8.]]

Wide Receivers
WR #1 -- Brandon LaFell, Junior (RS), 91 ovr
WR #2 -- Demetrius Byrd, Senior, 87 ovr
WR #80 -- Terrance Toliver, Sophomore, 85 ovr
WR #87 -- Jared Mitchell, Junior, 85 ovr
WR #86 -- Chris Mitchell, Junior, 84 ovr
WR #10 -- Ricky Dixon, Sophomore (RS), 81 ovr
WR #89 -- DeAngelo Benton, Freshman, 81 ovr
WR #6 -- Chris Tolliver, Freshman, 79 ovr
[[Kudos to The Doc for noting that my chart's off on Terrance Toliver's eligibility and Stagg for pointing out that #89 is DeAngelo Benton. Depending on whether or not Benton qualifies you may wish to name him DeAngelo Peterson -- another freshman WR that may not have made the cut but is similar to Benton -- for realism.]]

Tight Tends
TE #82 -- Richard Dickson, Junior, 87 ovr
TE #41 -- Jordon Corbin, Freshman (RS), 77 ovr
TE #83 -- Mitch Joseph, Freshman, 76 ovr
[[Yes, that's Jordon Corbin. He's not on the team in real life anymore, but EA Sports didn't have time to make the change. And Alex Russian got no love from EA again. =/]]

Offensive Tackles
LT #70 -- Ciron Black, Junior (RS), 94 ovr
RT #78 -- Joe Barksdale, Sophomore, 78 ovr
LT #76 -- Jarvis Jones, Sophomore, 76 ovr
RT #66 -- Max Holmes, Junior (RS), 73 ovr
[[What? Don't tell me you thought Jarvis Jones wouldn't be here. Speaking of him, he's already off of LSUsports.net's roster...whereas ESPN's roster still has Ryan Perriloux on it. Go figure. Thanks to Stagg for noting Max Holmes transferred.]]

Offensive Guards
LG #79 -- Herman Johnson, Senior (RS), 96 ovr (!)
RG #65 -- Lyle Hitt, Junior (RS), 84 ovr
LG #77 -- Ernest McCoy, Freshman (RS), 82 ovr
LG #64 -- Matt Allen, Sophomore (RS), 82 ovr
RG #72 -- Alex Hurst, Freshman, 76 ovr
RG #68 -- Josh Dworaczyk, Freshman (RS), 74 ovr
[[Finally, the biggest baby ever born in LA gets some love. I expected him to be highly ranked this year, but he looks like an impact player or something. Kudos to Stagg for pointing out that P.J. Lonergan is not a RS soph -- and for correcting the spelling of Lonergan's last name. He also figured out that #64 is Matt Allen. Thanks Stagg!]]

Centers
C #74 -- Brett Helms, Senior (RS), 90 ovr
C #63 -- Ryan Miller, Senior (RS), 86 ovr
C #53 -- T-Bob Hebert, Freshman (RS), 78 ovr
[[I'm starting to see the 04-08 comparisons...ballin' starting centers and young talent waiting. BTW, I'm naming my first male child T-Bob. That name is too cool.]]

Defensive Ends
LE #93 -- Tyson Jackson, Senior (RS), 95 ovr
RE #90 -- Ricky Jean-Francois, Junior (RS), 95 ovr
RE #49 -- Kirston Pittman, Senior (RS), 93 ovr
RE #84 -- Rahim Alem, Junior (RS), 83 ovr
LE #47 -- Tremaine Jackson, Senior, 82 ovr
LE #98 -- Sidell Corley, Freshman (RS), 80 ovr
LE #94 -- Chase Clement/Lavar Edwards/Chancey Aghayere, Freshman, 79 ovr
RE #95 -- Chase Clement/Lavar Edwards/Chancey Aghayere, Freshman, 79 ovr
[[Whew! Lots of ends this time. Remember that story about RJF destroying a rim? Well, with a 95 ovr rating -- prolly a little inflated to allow him to move to DT without a big dropoff -- you can't help but wonder whether Sarah Jessica Parker Wilson and whatever Bama QBs are behind him will be worrying about neck problems later in life. For that matter, I bet *all* the SEC QBs we play might be a little concerned...but enough hyping of one guy. Tremaine Johnson gets absolutely no love at all -- AGAIN.

Stagg has really helped out here -- he reminded me that Chancey Aghayere should probably be somewhere on this chart. That said, I still need height/weight numbers. I'd really appreciate it!]]

Defensive Tackles
DT #97 -- Al Woods, Junior, 93 ovr
DT #99 -- Marlon Favo-right, Senior (RS), 87 ovr
DT #91 -- Charles Alexander, Senior (RS), 85 ovr
DT #92 -- Drake Nevis, Sophomore, 79 ovr
[[Al Woods is an absolute monster in this game. Dorsey 2.0. We may have areas of weakness in this team, but the defense doesn't rebuild All-World DTs, it reloads. Marlon's last name is spelled funny because it drives me crazy to hear the announcers say "favorite, with the tackle". It's fave-o-right, but they pronounce it fav-o-rit, like the word you use on your most beloved pet.]]

Outside Linebackers
ROLB #11 -- Kelvin Sheppard, Sophomore (RS), 89 ovr
LOLB #56 -- Perry Riley, Junior, 85 ovr
ROLB #50 -- Kyle Prater, Freshman, 79 ovr
LOLB #52 -- Ace Foyil, Junior (RS), 78 ovr
ROLB #17 -- Shomari Clemons, Freshman (RS), 78 ovr
[[Stronger linebacking corps than I expected. Stagg strikes again, this time noting that Ryan Baker is probably the freshman MLB since Theriot is at FB. That's Kyle Prater.]]

Middle Linebackers
MLB #48 -- Darry Beckwith, Senior, 95 ovr
MLB #54 -- Jacob Cutrera, Junior, 82 ovr
MLB #30 -- Ryan Baker, Freshman, 80 ovr
[[Darry Beckwith got super-boosted from '08. It's about time, too...unfortunately, EA nerfed Cutrera from 08. I thought Theriot was at ILB, but Stagg figured out that he's at FB, so Ryan Baker goes here.]]

Cornerbacks
CB #29 -- Chris Hawkins, Sophomore (RS), 85 ovr
CB #4 -- Jai Eugene, Sophomore (RS), 83 ovr
CB #45 -- Patrick Johnson, Freshman, 83 ovr
CB #33 -- Tyson Andrus, Junior (RS), 82 ovr
CB #28 -- Brandon Taylor, Freshman, 79 ovr
[[Finally, we get to see the highly touted freshman Patrick Johnson...and boy, does he live up to expectation in this game. Thanks to TigerFan91 for figuring out #33 was Tyson Andrus. ]]

Free Safeties
FS #27 -- Curtis Taylor, Senior (RS), 94 ovr
FS #44 -- Danny McCray, Junior (RS), 85 ovr
FS #41 -- Karnell Hatcher, Freshman, 79 ovr
FS #23 -- Stefoin Francois, Freshman (RS), 79 ovr
[[Free safety is loaded as ever. Curtis Taylor looks like LaRon Landry with that nice overall rating, Danny McCray will probably step in like Craig Steltz did, and there are two talented safeties waiting in their freshman years of eligibility. Lookin' good.]]

Strong Safeties
SS #24 -- Harry Coleman, Sophomore (RS), 89 ovr
SS #3 -- Chad Jones, Sophomore, 85 ovr
[[Strong safety lacks the depth and experience like at free safety, but it's still got quite a lot of talent and a fair amount of experience. For those that are interested, Chad Jones's overall rating jumped 18 points from '08. That's as good a sign of a strong freshman campaign as ever.]]

Kickers
K #6 -- Colt David, Senior, 90 ovr
[[It's Colt David. Not much more to say, he's better than last year {which is surprising, considering that he was really good last year} and his Speed rating went up. I wonder what caused that... ;D]]

Punters
P #30 -- Josh Jasper, Sophomore, 69 ovr
[[Umm...damn. Our punter's overall rating is...ugh. I blame the bad special teams showing in the spring game for this. But I'm not here to bash, only to identify. I bet (hope) that in NCAA Football '10 his rating will have jumped up by nearly 20 points, kinda like Chad Jones from 08 to 09.]]

So there you have it, folks. I identified as many as I could without having a copy of the game on me. If I can get the height and weight of the following players, I can complete this:

RT #66
LG #64
LE #94
RE #95

Thanks, y'all! Hope this helps!

BTW, to keep this accurate...

Move FB #55 to be an LB. MLB or OLB, he plays linebacker so move him.

Make the following number changes:
+WR #6 --> WR #21
+TE #82 --> TE #18
+CB #45 --> CB #7
+CB #28 --> CB #15
+FS #41 --> FS #37 (all of those thanks to Stagg)
+QB #3 --> QB #9 (thanks to dgnx6)

I noticed duplicate numbers on the default roster, so I assume you can duplicate numbers...and anyway, 21 was Chevis Jackson, 18 was Jacob Hester, 7 was Ali Highsmith, 15 was Matt Flynn and 37 has always been Danny McCray, so there shouldn't be an issue anyway.

Good find. LSUsports.net didn't have him on the roster from what I saw...he's on ESPN's though. I should've checked there but I didn't use it after I saw the other #11 on there.

Thanks TigerFan!

Noted. I thought that was odd...so he's a sophomore then? The Excel chart I downloaded had him as a redshirt freshman and I want to make that correction.

Definitely Theriot... and he'll definitely be playing OLB.

quote:

WR #89 -- Ian Harding, Freshman, 81 ovr

This is DeAngelo Benton.

quote:

WR #6 -- Chris Tolliver, Freshman, 79 ovr

Will wear 21.

quote:

TE #82 -- Richard Dickson, Junior, 87 ovr

Will wear 18.

quote:

RT #66 -- Max Holmes, Junior (RS), 73 ovr

Transfered

quote:

LG #64 -- P.J. Longerin, Sophomore (RS), 82 ovr

It's "Lonergan"... and he's a true frosh. ETA: So I'm guess this is supposed to be someone else (if he's a RS Soph).

Clement and Edwards are wearing 88 and 89 respectively, and actually one of these guys on the game is surely Chancey Aghayere, our highest rated DE recruit. He will wear 81.

quote:

ROLB #50 -- Ryan Baker?, Freshman, 79 ovr

Believe this is supposed to be Kyle Prater. He's wearing 41.

quote:

MLB #30 -- Kellen Theriot, Freshman, 80 ovr

This should be Ryan Baker. He's wearing 22.

quote:

CB #45 -- Patrick Johnson, Freshman, 83 ovr

He'll wear 7.

quote:

CB #28 -- Brandon Taylor, Freshman, 79 ovr

He'll wear 15.

quote:

FS #41 -- Karnell Hatcher, Freshman, 79 ovr

He's wearing 37.

Why is Phelon Jones and Ron Brooks not included considering they were much highly praised as recruits

Probably because it's not LSU Football 2009 for your 360/PS3/Wii.

With a hundred and change teams to manage, on top of the actual game building..

I would think the developers have more pressing concerns than adding a few players 99% of players can miss without any impact to their gaming

So where is Theriot, surely a guy who played in the spring game will be on the roster. Those guys could go either way. Make them who you want. EA is limited on who they can put in the game.

He's at fullback... so you'll have to change him manually to an OLB. The coaches are starting him out at WLB.

Alright, lots of corrections to be made >_> I kinda figured that, but hey, it's a good thing y'all cared enough to go through this with me. Thanks!

FB #55 -- Theriot? Really? I don't think he's played FB in his career...he was recruited as an ILB and played QB in high school. I'm not saying this is wrong -- it's certainly believable given his number is the same and his size matches a FB -- but just for confirmation, do you have height and weight?

WR #89 -- That makes sense. I just noticed Harding is a RS freshman. My bad. But is Benton the last name? On LSUsports.net the last name is Peterson.

WR #6/TE #82/CB #28/CB #45/FS #41 -- I'll make a note of it in the brief comments I make. Thanks for the info!

RT #66 -- That's what I get for using ESPN's rosters when I can't find the player on LSUsports.net. Can I get height/weight from someone on this guy so I can match him up?

LG #64 -- I suppose he is...but the only sophomore listed under OTs, OLs and OGs is Joe Barksdale. Unless...he might be Richard Dugas, who's actually a center.

LE #94/RE #95 -- Oh snap. That was stupid leaving Aghayere off the list. I completely missed him when I was looking through the DEs. Argh, this is what I get for compiling this list at midnight. OK, I'm gonna need height/weight here too in order to match up.

ROLB #50/MLB #30 -- OK, got it. I was kinda confused by that since I didn't know Theriot was listed as a fullback in the game.

Actually, instead of noting number changes in the comments I make after each position, I'll list all the necessary number changes at the end.

Thanks for all the work y'all are doin'!

It's absolutely 100% Theriot. He was ranked as a FB by one of the services (Scout, I believe). His number is accurate (as compared to the other incoming froshes) because since he enrolled early, he's had #55 since the earliest Spring practices. He was 6'2" 225 on his recruiting profiles if I remember correctly. Also, for more verification, Stevan Ridley is a RS Frosh... not a true Frosh.

quote:

WR #89 -- That makes sense. I just noticed Harding is a RS freshman. My bad. But is Benton the last name? On LSUsports.net the last name is Peterson.

You may want to spend more time on recruiting. Benton was a 5-star prep school recruit wide receiver (originally from Bastrop, but spent a year at Hargrave Academy). DeAngelo Peterson was a senior at Desire Street Academy in BR last year, and he's not on the game. Benton likely will not qualify, so you may want to think about editing Benton to Peterson or Jhyryn Taylor.

No, it is Max Holmes... I'm just saying he's transfered since EA made the rosters.

Not to mention Barksdale is a true Soph... not a RS Soph. This is more than likely Matt Allen... he transfered as well.

I am using that roster...and it's not helping right now. x_x

Yeah, LSUsports.net says 6'1 225 pds on Theriot, so I'll assume that EA went with Scout for that one.

It's not recruiting problems...just LSUsports.net's roster being bleh. I'd heard of DeAngelo Benton but when I checked all I saw was DeAngelo Peterson, so I got confused. ((And how many people are gonna name their kids 'DeAngelo,' anyway? They're confusing the hell out of me @_@)) If Benton doesn't qualify, then I'll edit him to Peterson, but I have a feeling that is Benton.

Oh...OK. I understand now. I thought you meant he had transferred earlier, so he wouldn't be the guy on the roster...OK. And yeah, that looks like Matt Allen (who also transferred).

Changes made accordingly.

For those who are curious, Features --> FBS Rosters, find LSU, locate specific player, look at top of screen, see x'y" z pounds, type, submit message,

That does hold true for the bigger schools, but they do that for every school, and the games leaves Tulane without one of their best recruits(A.Lauricella).
