The first politicians with the testicular fortitude in Louisiana to push this will be my heroes

Its ridiculous that a place designed to keep us healthy with #gainz is the LAST place to open

Amen brother

The people in the gyms aren’t the ones at risk.

Yeah I can’t imagine what could go wrong with opening a place where everyone goes in and expels deep breathes while others breathe it in during a wide spread lung virus.

I’ll get a ton of down votes for that comment but what’s the reason you can work out at home? Plenty of ways to stay fit with body weight resistance and cardio.

Never understood paying to work out. Run the levees. Work out in the yard, helping neighbors, etc... picking up litter, grooming yards, etc....do push ups sit ups pull ups. I guess I just like my money too much

And let me say, I’m all for opening basically everything back up, but gyms in particular are ones that make me pause. And it’s definitely the place I miss the most right now too. I can’t wait to go back to the gym

You know the answer to this stupid question but still posted it to be edgy. It’s called weight lifting. It’s an activity many enjoy.

While I agree. For me it’s the motivation factor. I’m not the best at pushing/motivating myself daily on my own.

You could also use the above “why can’t you just do it at home” for nearly everything...

- Buying Groceries
- Eating meals
- Shopping
- Worshiping
- Visiting with friends
- Watching your favorite entertainer

I can keep going, but all of these can be done without leaving your home in 2020. So if we’re going to make that argument, nothing should be open...

I’m all for opening up all those places you listed. None of those are close quarters heavy breathing with droplets in the air. And I’m with you, my motivation sucks at home right now, but All it takes is one asymptomatic person in the gym to spread it to 5 people for it to spread into the community again. Can you imagine if the gym you go to gets notified one of its members tested positive a week or two after it opens?

Supposedly one in CENLA opened back up with written permission from the Governors office.
