Lake Oconee is about the northern range for moccasins. Folks see them further north in Georgia but those are probably just water snakes.


That is a big assed snake though...if it was a moccasin that long you couldn't toss it that far because it'd weigh about 5o pounds with their fat asses...

There are cottonmouths in North Carolina so no it’s not too far north
