Just got back.

To keep it simple, this is the best action movie I've ever seen. I've never watched a movie where I caught my jaw literally dropping so many times. The drama side of the movie is very well planned out and executed as well. There's constantly someone in danger or a ethical decision Wayne/Batman must make.

Ledger definitely deserves an Oscar nomination at the bare minimum. When the Joker is speaking, you don't feel like you're watching a movie, but just like you're listening to a madman speak. There's one scene where he is wearing no make up, and that was the only scene I could see physical traits that it was Ledger.

The Joker in this movie, as most had hoped, was perfect IMO. Several funny parts or lines, but still kept his lunacy front and center.

in your opinion will it hold up after several viewings?

I'm a huge superman fan and was all geeked up to see returns, and when i did i was in awe. The more I've watched it though, the more flaws I see. wondering if this might be similar or if it's just that good.

I can watch Begins over and over and have.

With this, you have one of the best bad guys ever. You have a very, very action packed movie, which is saying something for 2hr 30min movie since a lot of films that long have lots of filler scenes. Great acting all around. And as most other reviews on the internet have said, it brings morals into play constantly for Wayne.

It will hold up for me. I think for your casual movie goer who saw and liked Begins and sees this, it will hold up for them as well.

i loved Begins as well and have watched it countless times but the only thing I get hung up on, and it's the same with Superman Returns, is the bad guy's plot. Just these mass deaths with no real reason plots bug me.

I guess I'm hoping that Joker has something interesting.

(Semi-spoiler, maybe?)

This is one of the sadistic things about the Joker in the movie. Most of the movie, you think you know why he's causing all this destruction, but towards the end you really find out why, which only makes him seem so much worse.

Just got back. IT SUCKED.........................Just kidding. Wow! I am still processing it but there was not a dull moment. Such a draining movie both action wise and emotionally. One of the best movie experiences of my life. Now I have to go to bed.

I agree, I kept noticing that I forgot that it was Ledger but that's exactly what an actor is supposed to do. As for an Oscar nomination, I don't know. I think his performance was good, but probably not Oscar worth.

I thought the movie was really good! I didn't think it lived up to all the hype however. I still highly recommend it. I will probably go see it again at an IMAX since I missed out on seeing it on one tonight.

i would definitely not go that far

it actually had 1 or 2 fewer big action scenes than i originally expected, which isn't bad.

the last 2/3 is really good and goes into a damn good crime-epic
