The Next One

2019 was by far the most entertaining season. Most satisfying as well.
2003 will be hard to beat as far as excitement. Just always hoped to see one in a lifetime. That was so special bc of that. Sort of like the saints 2009 in nfl.

The split kind of taints it, unfortunately. LSU fans may not want to accept that, but the rest of the country certainly views it as a split.
At first they did leaning towards USC because they were dominating but ever since Saban’s run at Bama and the sanctions at Usc it has Trended towards LSU.

They were all exciting in different ways. Nothing tops the feeling of the 1st time being there and having it in the Dome. The tailgating atmosphere was phenomenal. Also, LSU vs. UGA (Part 1) and LSU at Ole Miss that year were just two classic nail-biter games. Knocking Eli out of the SEC title game was a bonus.
LSU vs. UF in 2007 was one of the all-time classic games and LSU vs. Auburn was a classic ending. How LSU ended up in the title game with the outcomes following the SEC title game was unbelievably exciting (it was exciting for 2003 too).
In 2019, it was exciting being the best. LSU vs. Bama was a classic and the Texas game was also great. Title game was also a very exciting comeback and display of dominance.
2003 was still probably the most exciting feeling since LSU hadn't had that kind of success in many years. Getting over the Bama hump this year felt like winning an NC.

2019
Had enough dominance and close games to be really fun and exhibitng
Can't beat the feeling of winning.
2007 was plenty exciting too. Sure we lost 2 games but we beat a lot of good teams.

Exactly. The day after the game it was viewed by many as a split. With the passage of time, almost everyone thinks the winner of the BCS championship game is the champ. Today, very few would argue that USC was the national champions in 2003.

When you look it up 2003 is always referred to as a split title. Everywhere. That’s ok

Maybe so, but only one of the two teams actually played in a "national championship" titled game. It was all about the crystal football then and everyone knew that. USC had a great team though. Would have been a great matchup.

Yeah, I would have preferred a LSU vs USC matchup in the Sugar Bowl instead of Oklahoma. Never understood how Oklahoma got into that game considering how bad they lost their conference championship game

1958 Baby!!! I was there for Cannons punt return.

i went to all those LSU title games and the 2005 Texas USC Rose Bowl where i had a big sign at the end of the game that said "you didn't win it in 2003 either"

I attended most of the games in all three of those seasons, including all three national championship games.
The answer is 2019.

I have been watching LSU football since 1974 and I can now die happy after this past year. A better season I could not have imagined in my wildest dreams. I remember sitting in a half empty Tiger Stadium halfway through Curley’s reign of terror. You could hardly give LSU tickets away back then.

1958 and 2019 stand alone. These were undefeated teams. I give the nod to 1958 because it was our first, but since you said recent, it’s clearly 2019.

is this a real question?

I respect 11 season as much as 03 and 07
That team was one victory away from matching 19 plus they beat bama at bama
The 2019 team beat Bama at Bama?
