Have you gone to Amazon and seen the outrageous prices (and late deliveries) for webcams. I checked earlier: I have a Logitech 922 camera. Paid $79 for it a few months ago. Now, on Amazon they are selling for $275. Worldwide, quality webcams are in short supply.

Canon to the rescue! Canon YouTube video

That $275 price is from a 3rd party not Amazon itself.

True. Go get one from anywhere else. Not available. Maybe Mid-June. Canon is just providing a handy tool to help people at no cost if they already have a camera.

There's this machine called 'Desktop'.

ok lets try again: what serious business person in the last 15 years uses a desktop instead of a laptop?

do they never travel or work at home? do these guys also have a fax machine and rolodex on their desks?

They're sold out. Apparently you're assumption that every laptop has a camera, no one uses a desktop and therefore no one needs an external webcam is incorrect. Sorry, bro.

webcams are sold out because of zoom and schools; not for business users.

Anyone doing DoD related work who may have to bring those laptops on a military base will have specifically removed the webcam when ordering.

You're ridiculous, dude. Please cite your source. And what the frick point are you trying to prove making this about "business people" (which is merely one genre of job a person might have).

Progression of your asinine argument:
1. All laptops have cameras. Why would anyone need a webcam?

2."Business people" don't use desktops, therefore no one needs to buy a webcam.

3. You recognize the shortage in webcams may be due to an increase of users from schools using Zoom. Ignore that they are plugging said webcams into either a laptop or desktop to use them, negating your first two arguments. Further back up your assumption, without proof, that no 'business person' needs a webcam and that this is meaningful, for some reason you have not made clear, in addressing the shortage of webcams.

I have a laptop. Brand new. No Webcam. 90% of what I do involves places like White Sands Missile Range, Sandia Labs, Edwards AFB, Kings Bay Sub Base, Space Command at Peterson AFB, Shreiver AFB, Yuma, 29 Palms, Northcom, etc., plus I work in ITAR facilities. No camera allowed.

I used a c922 Webcam, but connected my Canon 5DS with this and used a 35mm f/2 lens and my picture is 100% better.
