Is Chase the most complete receiver we've seen at LSU?

First off, not sure why the NCAA has a hard on for making sure the NCG stays off youtube. I can watch the Oklahoma game all day long but vs Clemson and they have multiple offices on it to take it down.

Anyways, he's a deep threat, he'll catch the quick slant over the middle, he'll line up out of the backfield, he's a pretty decent blocker from the little bit I've seen (I feel like we don't ask a lot of blocking from our receivers in the RPO), and the young man is strong. Found a condensed version of the NCG game and this play where he trucks Isaiah Simmons just gets me pumped.

Looking forward to 1 more season

He is probably the best... but hard to compare past receivers against this prolific offense

Well, my main point was about everywhere he contributes, not just the numbers. I feel he can do it all. He's even deadly in the red zone with the quick slant off the play fake.

I would think so.. Only thing I would improve (and this is a massive stretch) would be his 40 time (I feel like he runs in the low 4.5's/high 4.4's).

If he ran a sub-4.4 or lower, we would have to consider him being a mutant.

He’s up there probably with OBJ

There wasn't much OBJ couldn't do.

Wendell Davis and Josh Reed had some huge years. Odell and Jarvis too.

But Chase has the chance to be best all time with another great year.

Watching that video, a few plays later, Jefferson blows over another Clemson DB

If you type “John Quinn LSU vs Clemson” or simply subscribe to John Quinn, you will always be able to watch the NCG.

I think Odell is personally. Chase will he picked higher, in part just cuz of the schematic differences. Odell was just a better athlete after the catch and route runner imo, but both are obviously incredible. Odell also went into the league and immediately became a star despite sitting camp out for a good amount of time due to injury. We don’t know what chase will do as a rookie yet

I disagree. Chase is so much stronger than OBJ. He's really the perfect all around WR. Good speed, size, strength, hands, catch radius, vertical, route tree. You name it, he's good at it

Jarvis Landry caught EVERYTHING and managed to have a 1,000 yard season under Miles. That itself is an accomplishment. I think Landry and Chase are very similar receivers. Both have great hands, are extremely physical, very strong and know how to get open.

Odell dropped his share of passes at LSU. Chase has upper hand on that stat (I think, haven't actually checked facts).

Dwayne Bowe deserves some mention.

made big plays, could block his arse off, and was physical in general. had the single season TD record before this year. ran like a 4.4 at the combine. the Lasik cleaned up his drop issues (mostly), which weren't terribly bad.

You can certainly make an argument for Chase. I would love to have seen what Michael Clayton could have done in this offense

It would be interesting to see the numbers some of our past WR’s put up vs the top CB’s they played.

The NFL Draft only continued to highlight how well Chase played. Many of the top round CB’s numbers looked really good until Chase played them. Florida’s Henderson, Clemson’s Terrell, Alabama’s Diggs just to name a few.

Chase is the best we’ve ever seen at LSU, and I would not take another receiver in SEC history over him. He cannot be guarded one on one.
