What are their missteps besides Fallout 76? I'll wait for their next mainline ES or Fallout game to declare they've gone to shite.

this. i still thought it was a good game, but it was below the bar set by their other games.
Starfield will be a big chance for them to regain some cred. if it's awesome, my elder scrolls VI anticipation could got from 6 to midnight real fast.

I would agree 4 isn't as good as 3 or NV, but it was still fun and a lot of people still put in a shite ton of hours into it. Far Harbor DLC was really good. I know Gardoki, who never played 3 or NV, absolutely loved 4.

3 really has a lot of issues. The main story starts on a high note (with the ability to destroy Megaton and all) but is very linear and requires DLC to see the conclusion. I like the setting of the Capital Wasteland, but it's very copy/paste.
I thought that 4's open world was more interesting and that it had the better campaign overall.
The DLC for 3 might be better though. I didn't play the DLC for 4, but the DLC for 3 was pretty varied with the different locals and structure.

Mid-2000s Bethesda was god tier but honestly ever since then they’ve declined into literally being hard carried by idsoftware.

If y'all haven't downloaded wastelanders pack for 76 you're missing out. Totally changes the game. How it should have been from the start.

I'm going to jump back in eventually. I played it a few weeks before Wastelanders released and framerate was really bothering me. And I have a pretty good PC. I'm guess it still has bad performance issues.

Probably. But could have been servers. Several weeks before they were rolling out updates. Story is solid and much better game
