I definitely smell it over off of Esplanade. Smells like exhaust fumes over here.

#BREAKING: St. Bernard Parish Fire Chief confirms lightning struck refinery in Chalmette. Power outage triggered flares, which caused smoke and smell.

The fire chief says they've gotten calls about the smell from Orleans and Jefferson. No injuries, no explosions.

So there’s a lightning strike at a chemical plant in St Bernard Parish, and this gives an opportunity for a cheap shot against NOLA. I’m not a fan of our mayor, but be reasonable in your criticism.
