Hey fam,
I am looking to get an A5-15 but I can wait a few months for the market to settle down a little bit. I figure you will easily be able to find used guns but do new guns go on sale after a time like this? I didn't follow the market the last time AR-15s were flying off the shelves so I am not sure if I should just go ahead and buy now or wait for later.

Used market will be up cause of job losses

So used prices may fall a bit as Jr needs truck note cash

The market for nice AR15's never rose. Cheapo AR15's are already coming down quickly.

Conventional wisdom says wait, but I dunno... a quick check on gundeals shows prices (firearms, not ammo) has been pretty consistent.
It's ammo that has skyrocketed.

You might want to get the gun now, with minimal required ammo (maybe a box or two), and just sit on things until the ammo prices drop.
If this shutdown continues much longer, guns will go up (or become unavailable), and if that happens, it might be awhile before they drop.

With as crazy as it is, they might not go back to what they once were. If they do, it might be a while. IMO the prices are a bit higher but not enough to deter me. And as I think it has been stated before, ammo is what’s really jacked up and becoming scarce. And at least my local gun store keeps enough ammo to sell with the purchase of a firearm. But I’m not the one having to buy anything so take it for what it’s worth.

Either way, “out of stock” has been more and more prevalent. Good Luck!

I picked up a rifle Monday that was actually on sale. The prices seem to be pretty much what they were 6 weeks ago. There's nowhere for it to go down, really.
