They've terminated all of their employees.

Agreed. They seemed to be trying to do it right this time.

I figure a lot of sports will be hurting at first. It cost money to go to games and buy expensive merchandise.

The one season experimental football league curse is still alive.

Smart business move. Vince sheds employees with no revenue coming into the league. Employees can claim unemployment. When all this blows over he picks back up where he left off

IDK - I think Vince used the pandemic as an excuse to shut things down again, without having to face the ridicule of the league being a failure.

Does anybody know anything about the league's finances? If I had Vince's money I think I would give it more than half a season before throwing in the towel.

Admittedly I only watched parts of a couple games, but I kind of liked it. I liked the new rules, I like that they were transparent about things, and I'm sure the coaches didn't like it but I liked that they let you listen to play calls and shite. And it scratched a little bit of that football itch during what's normally the offseason.

There's probably a lot of pressure from investors, but I wouldn't expect a brand new league to be profitable for a few years. It takes time to build a fanbase. Hell, the only reason I didn't watch more games is because I never remembered it existed. I would have watched more next year.

I hope they give it another go.

This, no one that invested in the league could have expected not to lose money for a few hearts. Maybe the numbers were that much worse than they originally expected the losses were going to be too much to overcome.
