Is leaving a bowl of unwrapped candy out on the counter weird?

I'm over at my parents house and my mom just put out a bowl of Easter colored M&Ms for 'decoration'. I told her that they would go stale and go to waste but she didn't seem to mind. Normal or not?

How many weeks does it take for an M&M to go stale?

That's fairly normal. I tend to cover up stuff like that at my place, but will uncover them if people are over.

I think they're gonna be ok - they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

Had this same thought today while watching The Office. That damn candy dish on the counter in front of Pam.

Looked like Skittles. Now I want Skittles.

Buy her a glass dish with a glass lid that is easily put on and taken off. Convenient and hygienic.
