The City is deeply disappointed, but not surprised, by the failure of 1031 Canal to comply with the Court's requirement that they submit a detailed plan for the demolition of the Hard Rock site, stamped by a licensed engineer. This failure further delays efforts to recover the remains of the victims, demolish the building safely, and reopen the economic heart of our city.

Why do they think they're going to get those bodies out of that place?
As shitty as it is, they're going down with that building

They have a plan and a contractor with insurance
They are just waiting on the city to sign the permit.

but the developers were told the company, DH Griffin Wrecking, was unable to obtain insurance for the project.
I wouldn't want to insure that shitshow either.

As a result, to retrieve the remains as quickly as possible and to safely demolish the building, 1031 Canal Development has entered into a contract with Kolb Grading, a nationally regarded demolition contractor, to carry out a traditional demolition,” the developers said in a statement.
Traditional demolition would be taking the building apart piece-by-piece versus an implosion. The city went back-and-forth on the decision after the Oct. 12 partial collapse.
Three people were killed and more than a dozen others were injured. Two bodies remain at the site.
Recently, a spokesperson with the City of New Orleans said the scheduled demolition would be moved from March to April
Two cranes were imploded on Oct. 20. The event drew hundreds of people who were kept at a safe distance.
Kolb Grading will not need state immunity and indemnity because of they way they will take the building down.
The company has applied for a permit with the city to carry out the work. As soon as the demolition permit is approved, 1031 Canal Development says it is ready to move forward.

Didn’t “grease” enough palms...

To demolish the Hard Rock sight will be a campaign promise in the next mayoral election.

This is a fiasco.
Would this have been resolved by now in any other city that’s not New Orleans?

Should be easy for Kolb to get the permit as their plan for everything is to take a giant bulldozer to it

Give it a little more time Latoya's Ghana take care of this...

Destroya won’t sign the fricking permit.
She’s using this as some sort of leverage or whatever.

Am I misunderstanding the situation? If they have a plan why didn’t they submit it to the court?
Seems either you are disingenuous or the city is grossly misrepresenting if the hold up is a signed permit not a signed plan
