BR DOTD did something right

The contractor they chose for the work on Perkins is kicking arse. They are moving quickly and getting shite done everyday. Crazy they finally selected a decent contractor.

I agree. My office is off of Perkins near the Pennington Biomedical Center and yes they are doing some serious work in a short time.

I agree that the timing is good for all of us that travel that route, but what does the amount of traffic have to do with how fast they are getting things done?

Makes it faster setting up and moving lane closures. Allows them to get more aggressive with the lane closures, meaning they can do more work on a given day (night?). Makes it faster moving equipment/materials on traffic lanes. Less need to be hyper focused on idiot drivers when working close to the cones.
The amount of traffic has a huge effect on productivity.

OK, I can see that. Like I said, I drive the area regularly and they are kicking arse.
