You're just wrong.

No one burns out an opponent by making things easy for him. They burn them out by making things harder.

LeBron also didn't exactly get tired. He had a .630 TSP, and was high efficiency throughout.

You're also forgetting Kyrie went for 29.4 per game the same series.

It's really funny that you think the W's strategy was to have LeBron drop 34, 12 and 10 a game with super high efficiency while Kyrie drops almost 30 per alongside him.

Bc those teams were so deep, MJ's supporting cast was OBVIOUSLY immature, MJ's HCs (until Jackson) were obviously inferior, and MJ himself (until 1990) was physically incapable of dealing with those teams, the Celtics and Pistons did what they did, won, and rendered Jordan's stats hollow, this isn't fricking rocket science

So the brilliant strategy of letting your opponent’s best player go off wasn’t the reason they won?

Interesting.

ETA: I’m learning so much about strategy in sports from you and Madking. Don’t try to stop your opponent’s best player. Let him score at will and get tired. Thank you.

So the brilliant strategy of your inability to comprehend sentences and text is the reason you obviously can't get the point? Interesting

Also a misleading narrative. If you don’t watch the games and are simply a box score fan you can’t know things like Lebrons robust averages vs Golden State in 2017 were a bi-product of Golden State’s strategy not Lebron’s performance. Golden state simply ran the Cavs out of gas in that series allowing LeBron to get numbers while burning up energy causing a gentleman’s sweep of the Cavs. LeBron played right into their hands but was celebrated for insignificant numbers.

Why people disagree with this since this WAS OBVIOUSLY GOLDEN STATE'S STRATEGY AND BASICALLY WORKED TO PERFECTION CONSIDERING THE OUTCOME makes ZERO SENSE to me

That's what the Celtics did against Wilt, Russell generally ALWAYS let Wilt get his in their matchups but played the long game and ultimately sucked out his soul as the Celtics continued to prevail as a team, this isn't new game theory

That strategy has really caught on. See it all the time in combat sports now.

If GS did this, it didn't work. LeBron produced the best statistical finals ever on very high efficiency.

The strategy for GS that created the outcome was having KD, Steph and Klay combine for 80 ppg while making more than 11 combined 3's a game on 45% shooting fron 3.

The Cavs put up 115 ppg. LeBron and the Cavs were dominant on offense. The Warriors won because they had 3 of the best shooters of all time firing on all cylinders.

GOLDEN STATE WON THE SERIES
LEBRON PUT UP INCREDIBLE NUMBERS

THEREFORE

GOLDEN STATE’S STRATEGY WAS TO LET LEBRON SCORE AND IT WORKED TO PERFECTION

I CANT WAIT FOR THIS DEFENSIVE STRATEGERY TO MAKE ITS WAY TO FOOTBALL

Still lost BAD, basically what the Spurs did to the Heat in 14

That's basically the point, the superior team both starters and bench collectively defeated the other team convincingly and permitted them hollow numbers as they established their dominance to the point of a gentlemen's sweep. That the Warriors are even superior to the Cavs is arguable considering the Cavs were defending champs, consisted of a player you all think is superior to Jordan all-time and the best ball handler today who smoked Steph the prior year, and possessed solid depth as well. If anything, all this solidifies and proves OUR POINT and annihilates your point, unless you're willing to admit LeBron's not a top all-time player like you all hype him up to be.

Subject to interpretation and their game 4 gentlemen's sweep win certainly factors into that.

quote:

The Warriors won because they had 3 of the best shooters of all time firing on all cylinders.

And their corresponding strategy of defending the Cavs allowed them hollow numbers ultimately.

Hm...

Massive favorite wins.
Lebron balls out.
Winning strategy was to let Lebron ball out.

So are we now admitting LeBron James is not as great as people on this board claim and the world can return to ACTUAL REALITY?
