It basically comes down to the Astros no longer will get the same negative reaction game to game, will have their draft penalties not be as severe in practice, and the injury to Verlander is basically wiped out
Or the red sox who will now probably never have their report release and my never have their punishment publicly announced. I'm leaning Astros still but a legit debate between the two
I think it’s a situation where in an alternate covid free universe the Astros were gonna bear the PR hit disproportionately between the two and go a full season with extremely hostile crowds. Now IF there is a season there is a strong strong possibility of limited to no crowds and a general let bygones be bygones let’s go have fun not show up to be angry at opposing players mentality from the fans who can go. The Astros clearly benefit from a PR standpoint
On the other hand the Red Sox would be repeat offenders and based on reports some people had been giving conflicting statements which laid the possibility that Manfred took them to be concealing stuff and hammered them harder on an organizational level than the Astros. It would end up kinda being a 5-10 minute segment on mlb tonight (rather than entire shows like the Astros in the offseason) because the regular season would be ongoing and fans would be paying attention to their own teams.

I just have no idea how hard they were gonna be hit. If they actually were gonna be treated like repeat offenders then they probably get the nod. But everything I read up to that said it was gonna be less. But we will never know I guess

Its getting more and more obvious the american people as a whole are in such great fear they dont want full return to normalcy until there are ZERO cases of covid-19
Which, isnt really feasible
