I have to use it in all three cars we have so yes. The boat takes regular though. No need to use premium unless the manufacturer requires it for high compression high performance engines it’s a waste of money.

Virtually zero reason to unless your car is either "premium fuel only" or otherwise knocks with lower octane fuel.

I've always used premium in my Porsche.

3 out of my 5 cars require premium but alas I’m not driving anywhere so I guess the answer is still NOPE.

All of the cars I've ever owned have required premium so I've always bought premium.

Had a 1986 F-150. Put premium in it a couple of times. It told me to knock that shite off. Ran better with regular.

The Tacoma with the BRZE 4.0 gains like 6hp it's the most of any vehicle I know of.

If your car requires 87, you're wasting your money.

My car only takes 93 premium

Me: “Dale, you don’t have to keep calling me Mister Füt.”
Dale: “Okay Füt.”
Dale: “Okay Füt.”

Stock? I wasn't aware of any stock vehicles that require 93 octane, there are some that will advance the timing with 93 but there are a lot of areas of the country you just can't find 93 octane.

Do people actually not use premium? Figures that poors wouldn’t care about taking care of their engine

Nope, still running E85.

Maybe that's true among vehicles that specify 87 octane, but if you put regular in something like a WRX you're giving up a lot more than 6hp. The computer will detect knock and back the timing advance way off.

I got 95 gallons of gas today filling up the boat tank

I always do. Better mileage.

A lot of "non-high performance" engines are engineered specifically for regular (87 octane) gasoline. Very commonly this is true for Ford trucks, although I can't speak for very recent ones.

Car and driver claims they got 20 more Hp out of the 3.5 Ecoboost with 93 octane
quote:
On 93 octane fuel, the truck can run from naught to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds, which is fast considering the truck weighs 5594-pounds. When Car & Driver went from 93 octane premium to the 87 octane cheap stuff, the Ford F-150 lost 20 horsepower going from 380 horsepower on 93 to 360 horsepower on 87.
The drop in power made a substantial difference according to the testers and could be felt at the test track. Felt or not, the drop in power didn’t make a huge difference in performance with the Ford F-150 0-60 mph time dropping only a few tenths to 5.9-seconds to 60 mph. The quarter-mile time on 87 octane dropped by half a second to 14.5 seconds, and the trap speed dropped four mph.
