i can't imagine that number is anywhere near correct. more likely dozens per day. however, it doesn't matter. PLENTY of people were traversing between the 2 countries DAILY. also, the beaches were business as usual until a few days ago. also also, healthcare professionals are questioning the numbers cali is publicizing

Bc the peak will come late April or May from what it looks like. I'm not saying we haven't been effective from SD. Just that it's out there and will hit. Laguna Honda has infections. That's an old folks home in SF. huge. Another big nursing home in LA has 15 known cases. It's just a matter of time. My friend at SF general hospital said half admitted were going on vents. We will have bad stuff here, it's inevitable. Facts.

I'm not fear mongering. I'm just stating that our CA curve will not max out as early as LA or NY. Plus, we have had time to get ready at least. It's not fake news, just an inevitably. I want this over with and to go back to my job and see my 401k come back as badly as anyone else. Stop the sniping.

Does California have state-wide stay at home orders? Or is it by city/county?

idk didn't San Fran shut things down very early in this whole process?

Yeah.

I think they were the first major city because of the high Chinese population. The Chinese were talking about it while the rest of America had no idea.

My sister lives in S.F. and she was talking about this virus back in early February and saying prepare...and I'm thinking what the hell is she talking about?

I believe it's pretty damn close

quote:

Visits from China to the US have increased 1,270 percent since the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) virus outbreak in 2002, to 2.8 million in 2019

[quote]The impact of those losses won't be spread evenly around the country. Visitors from China tend to flock to big US cities such as Los Angeles and New York City, Tourism Economics found.

However, they also visit outlet shopping malls and national parks. When Chinese visits are evaluated as a percentage of overall overseas visitors, the city of Riverside in Southern California is the most visited,

Have NO IDEA why they would wanna visit a dump like Riverside but whatever.

I would also think the vast majority of those 2.8 million land in California even if they don't visit.

You think dozens of people per day were flying into California per day from China? Did your mother drink bleach while she was pregnant with you?

United alone has at least four flights a day coming in from HK and Shanghai to SF. That is 1,000 right there. How many with American and Delta out of LA? How many with Cathay Pacific and China Air and all the other airlines?

Dozens a day? Why would you even bother posting after starting off with such a stupid claim

otal through yesterday. How can a state with 40m people have such small results? A state where 5,000 -7,000 people PER DAY were flying into their airports from China prior to the travel ban in January They should be in full crisis mode with that much exposure. Have any of our “experts” been able to explain this? It’s such a statistical anomaly.
