Just make sure you take the good with the bad when making this comparison.

While victory in WW2 is our crowning achievement of the 20th century and our greatest contribution to humanity thus far....the domestic political and societal changes that the war brought about set the table for nearly everything that helped cause the current crisis. Think MIC, globalism and the loss of domestic manufacturing, the social welfare state, our subsidization (and therefore infinite weakening) of Europe, the rise of China, etc.

Not saying we cant do great things, but those tasks often involved fundamentally changing things about our nation, the impacts of which sometimes deviate from our original intention
