This press conference made me realize something. Just like a large Ship It takes the US some time to get going. But when it does no country in the world can respond like our Corporations and Manufactures. They can’t be stopped.

Like a large old 70s land yacht with bad brakes. Hard to start. But once it starts rolling it rolls pretty good. And it’s damn hard to stop!

It’s hard to stop the Trump Train.

I have always been intrigued about why this is the case with Americans.

You have pinpointed why the federal government budget should be slashed by over 50% as a start
All those departments and none of them do jack shite

Just make sure you take the good with the bad when making this comparison.
While victory in WW2 is our crowning achievement of the 20th century and our greatest contribution to humanity thus far....the domestic political and societal changes that the war brought about set the table for nearly everything that helped cause the current crisis. Think MIC, globalism and the loss of domestic manufacturing, the social welfare state, our subsidization (and therefore infinite weakening) of Europe, the rise of China, etc.
Not saying we cant do great things, but those tasks often involved fundamentally changing things about our nation, the impacts of which sometimes deviate from our original intention

Because we have a free country full of different ideas and free thought. That means you need to get everyone on board which takes time.
Unlike a place like China where the commie government just throws everyone in jail who thinks differently.

I don't disagree at all.
But it boils down to one word that's very prevalent today...
Overreaction

Oddly enough this is some of the advice Obama gave to Trump when the transfer of power happened.
But to the other point we can dominate China and other countries when we put our minds to it.

Ironically, we’ll pass China tomorrow in total deaths from Covid.

WWII didn’t start the welfare state, LBJ did, to breed voters for his party, and made them addicted to the Democratic giveaways. Sort of like Saruman in Lord of the Rings.

Might take us 5 years to match their body count.

No we won't. Damn, we have some fricking naive people on this planet. Do you really think in a country of 1.4 billion people, many of whom have respiratory illnesses already due to their terrible air pollution, that only just over 2,000 have died.
When they said they had only 80 deaths, there were half that many in yellow body bags in one hallway of one floor of one hospital. Delivery trucks are delivering thousands of urns to crematoriums daily. The news that leaks out never matches the narrative told by the CCP.

I'd guess China has at least 2 million cases and 30k deaths by now
