That was as of 4pm yesterday.

Underlying illnesses include Diabetes, Lung Disease, Cancer, Immunodeficiency, Heart Disease, Hypertension, Asthma, Kidney Disease, and GI/Liver Disease.

People are always asking how many of those that died had other health issues. There is your data in the biggest hot spot in the country. It's very rare that a healthy person will die from Covid19.

Very difficult to induce panic with that.

What percentage of Americans over the age of 30 have one of these?

I'd add obesity to the list. Not sure it's considered an illness but it's something that definitely counts.

What percentage is it the person’s own fault they have the underlying illness?

Must suck for all the people who find out they had an underlying condition after they die.

I also thought they are counted obesity and high blood pressure which also means a larger part of our population would be considered at risk.

I get the point that a lot of the deaths have other conditions that make them higher risk but it does not change the numbers.

It would the same as redoing car wrecks or murder rates because they had other health conditions. I am not arguing the point you are making but I don’t understand why everyone is touting it so hard.

Probably something like 99% (completely made up) of people who die everyday have some preexisting conditions before they die.

No idea. I am trying to understand how much of America falls into high risk. I’d say that most people think they are “healthy” but really aren’t.

I'd bet most of the other deaths were obese people. They just don't classify it as an underlying health problem for this data.

Higher then you think, probably.

And people with these issues need to do a better job keeping themselves clean.

The rest of us need to be working.

Curious as to the severity of the underlying condition as it relates to morbidity rates. There are degrees of kidney disease, heart disease, hypertension, etc.

Wow, I feel really dumb after reading that.

Like, I just had to listen to AOC, Shelia Jackson Lee, or Joe Biden speak dumb.

This association is VERY important to understanding who is at risk and how this spreads. Dr. Birx has explained this several times.

That is a great question. I mean hypertension and asthma? Some people have mild forms (I don’t have either), But lumping that in with diabetes and heart disease gives people a false sense of security by making it sound only that chronically ill have these. Some Olympic athletes have asthma

I am as well. I’m a diabetic who with medicine and a better diet than years gone by has well controlled A1c. I am not obese and don’t usually get sick. At 47, what’s my risk?

So you mean to tell me that it is surprising the world that the unhealthy, elderly, and immune compromised people of the world are more at risk than the younger healthy population of the world.

I am shocked shocked I tell you. You need to get this message out now.

By that basis, it’s fairly rare to find a healthy person here.

More than 2/3rds of the US has a least one of the things on your list.

I’m sure you think this is a great question. I’m also sure you believe these people deserved to die anyway. Another stalwart example of compassionate conservativism at its best. Disgusting as always.
