What's done is done.

China has, on a global grand strategy level, out-maneuvered the USA. China knew that it could not deal a serious blow to US military supremacy, so they did not take that course of action. China also knew that direct economic confrontation also would not be successful. Around 1989 or so, China began its "soft offensive" of currying influence with those who were willing to "sell out" US manufacturing to China. It took about 30 years for China to put the USA in this adverse strategic situation, but, here we are.

Enjoy it, USA. China paid for it.
