Plant operators. How's life?

What is your plant doing to keep you safe? Business as usual?

Exceptional now that vendors/visitors have been banned.

I’m not an operator, but our plant is business as usual with precautions taken around breaks, meetings etc. All outside visitors have been banned unless deemed as business critical and all travel has been shut down.

we can’t go in the control room, they’re mostly scared the board operators will get sick and we’ll be fricked. Other than that they’ve pretty much just cut out meetings, business as usual. They even gave us this sticker to put on our drivers license so if we have a mandatory quarantine we can still bring our asses to work. We cut rate though so there’s been a lot of arse time

Management apparently thinks it is acceptable to have full contractor staffing. On Friday I wrote a ton of permits. Glad my health is at risk for some scaffolds and insulation.

It’s dangerous enough being around scaffold builders without Kung Fu Flu going around.

Not an operator, but we are business as usual.

They moved us to 14 on 14 off. I'm off now, so no idea what's going on out there.

We've moved to two crews of day personnel to prevent cross contamination of shifts. Shift operators have stayed on their normal schedule. All maintenance and turnarounds are going forward as scheduled for the moment but I have a feeling that will change.

Start 14 on 14 off tomorrow night . Control room off limits to anyone but operators. I’m part of the lock-in crew if necessary. Plan on making some serious money. My 6 month pregnant wife is not happy with my joining of the lock-in crew.

We are business as usual too. All non essential are home, maintenance is still ramped up. Seems like they don't care much.

No contractors on site unless break in required and no more meetings. Operations is still on as normal.

Big cuts in maintenance / contractors coming. Many staff 100% from home. Big Texas refinery where a relative works.

Not an operator, but we are about to lock some people in and pay 1.5x pay around the clock.

Lmao same boat. Wife is 6 months pregnant and a nurse, and I signed up for lock in. I told her to quit working if I lock in and just stay home

I work for a contractor and we’re out at Arkema in Crosby. We haven’t been told to leave yet

Working in a control room where no one can come in makes for a long 12hr shift. Reading a lot of books.

GTA - San Andreas is now available for your mobile. I've killed thousands of hookers the last few weeks.

I work at the old Ormet plant in Burnside just south of Gonzales. They haven’t done a damn thing here except contract some nurse to stand by the gate and check your temperature on your way in. I saw her checking people and reading 92 and 94 and so on and no questions asked. I’m like hello?? Clearly that thing doesn’t work
. These people are morons over here. Business as usual for now though.
