Okay, here are some facts for you LA people...draw from this what you will. I've seen so many numbers thrown out by so many people, so I thought I'd look at the State bible on this and see what the most accurate numbers look like.
According to the LA Dept. of Public Health site:
There have been 3,302 tests administered and 763 of those were positive for COVID-19 - 23%.
Of those 763 cases, 20 have died so far - 2.6%.
(For comparison - Johns Hopkins (JH) has a global death rate of 4.2%, China - I'm sure it's horse shite, but 4%, Italy - a staggering 9%, U.S. as a whole - 1.3%)
LA has 20 of the 336 U.S. deaths (according to JH) - 6% (Which ties for fourth on the list with GA, and behind WA - 94; NY - 75; CA - 25 deaths, respectively)
35 of 64 Parishes have reported a positive case - 54.6%
Orleans Parish has 418 of the 763 cases...54.7%
Orleans Parish has 15 of the 20 deaths...75%
6 of the 20 deaths have come from one place - Lambeth House...30% (Based on KNOE article)
The latest Census Bureau data has LA at 4,648,794 as of July, 2019.
The 763 positive cases would represent 0.016% of the overall population.
About 15.7 of every 100k residents and .98 of every 6k residents.
CASES
What would be great to know here is how many tests were administered by age group as well, but I did not see that info.
42% Male
58% Female
4 positive cases among individuals below 18 - .52%
56 positive cases among individuals ages 18-29 - 7.3%
117 positives cases among individuals ages 30-39 - 15.3%
169 positive cases among individuals ages 40-49 - 22.1%
152 positive cases among individuals ages 50-59 - 19.9%
135 positive cases among individuals ages 60-69 - 17.6%
130 positive cases among individuals ages 70+ - 17%
DEATHS
Did not see deaths broken out by gender.
0 deaths among individuals ages below 18 - 0%
0 deaths among individuals ages 18-29 - 0%
1 death among individuals ages 30-39 - 5%
2 deaths among individuals ages 40-49 - 10%
4 deaths among individuals ages 50-59 - 20%
1 deaths among individuals ages 60-69 - 5%
12 deaths among individuals ages 70+ - 60%

Good info. Seems Lambeth House is our Seattle nursing home, but they’ve done a better job of squelching shite.

Yes...by the state lab.
What it also clearly states are 2,008 tests run by commercial labs.

Sic ‘em, Rummy!!
I did not know 6 of the 20 La. deaths were from one nursing home. Somehow I missed that. Thanks for posting the info.

What if I told you there was something that caused 102 deaths every day in the US (which didn’t discriminate age, gender, race, etc...) and we could stop it if everyone stayed home? Do you think we should have a lockdown in order to prevent it?
Posted on 3/21/20 at 10:15 pm to RummelTiger
Considering the requirements they’ve imposed on who gets tested, a mortality rate less than 3% is low.

Depends.
Does it involve snakes?
If you ask me - every single one of those motherfrickers deserve to die, and I don't give a frick what it does to the eco system.

So about 17 of every 100,000 population or 1 in every 6,000 in Louisiana have tested positive so far.
Where will this number ultimately end up?
30? 50? More?

Wondering how many have some Italian DNA.

All that and we just started testing in Michigan on Friday.

So, yes...your numbers are close (I'd have about 15.7 of every 100k and .98 in every 6k)

We would never leave our homes again.

I'm guessing China's death rate is/was closer to Italy

Or higher...I don't think they knew what the frick they had on their hands for some time. I mean, the first known case over there goes back to Nov. 17th.
