I’m not talking chains. Your favorite local watering hole, mom and pop shop, etc.

The only bar in town.
If that shite goes under, I'll have to open one myself, and I don't want that headache.

I was afraid my favorite Mexican restaurant was gonna struggle until I picked up takeout there yesterday and it was packed.

Is the sobering, but correct answer. Many, many small businesses will not survive. Between that and other related financial losses, I wouldn’t be surprised if when we look back, there are more deaths due to depression related suicide than due to this virus.

Lost in this whole mess is that Hubig Pies won't be coming back when they expected to.
Now I'm pissed.

Hopefully it shuts down half of the CBD snake oil stores and vaping stores popping up in every strip mall.

Who the f cares? How is this any different than any other time?
50% of restaurants and stores fail within the 1st six months.
Everyone who opened a cupcake shop or alkaline water store has failed when those fads died. How many K-Marts and Toys R Us and Borders failed? All of them.
Does every owner/worker at a failed store commit suicide? Seriously everyone would be dead by now.
Restaurants come they go and new ones pop back up in their place. Bennigans? Roy Rogers? Steak and Ale? Chi-Chi's?
Where are the mass suicides doomsday man?

Memphis was really seeing a great restaurant boom over the past 5 years or so. Not sure which will be able to hang on.

In Columbia, SC, if Il Giorgione and Saluda's close, then I'm going to fricking burn this mother fricker down.

Thise were slow deaths. Restaurants that were liquid now have a huge cloud of uncertainty above them.
