Poke Geaux was dead yesterday and they said it’s been that way all week. I’ll be bummed if they close.

I'm one of the 3 busiest restaurants in houma. It has been unsustainable to say the least

If stores remain closed for several months you will have the effect of some closing due to banks not working with them/ landlords still demanding rental payments. However I don’t see many people after taking chances to open something new for years due to the possible return of Covid 19 in the wintertime. Also possible the locals suffer real economic harm, and realize less disposable income is available in their immediate area thus driving anyone from remotely thinking about opening a new restaurant.

We’ve donated to a bunch of our favorite restaurants over this time
I’m sure they’ll make it as they’re only open for takeout and delivery

Poke was a fad from 2015-2017 it’s slowly fading out as a stand-alone shop concept, especially now that sushi joints incorporate it into their menu.

Nowhere near the amount of traffic. To go and take out is not enough to pay the bills or employ the staff we had a few weeks ago

Almost all locally owned small businesses are at extreme risk.

Ideally, when this is over, it would be great to offer them loans at next to nothing to get back up and running, but that won't happen.

Prepare for more shitty boomer chains on every corner.
