This is the feds fault...not the business owners

I'm another small business owner. we don't have a huge cashflow and honestly don't make a lot of profit at all. The main reason I keep it open is because it provides a service everyone needs. Yeah, i could jack up the prices and make a ton of money off of it but I don't think that's fair. Now, I wish I did so that I could afford this 'down time'. If this thing goes two months, I'm gonna have to shut the doors. sucks.

Why do the taxpayers deserve it? A what did they do wrong?

I own a business. Bought it 3 years ago. When I did, I had to buy new business insurance. Costs me about 60K per year. When I did, I literally bought every single coverage they offered, except for one. It was “national catastrophe” coverage. As my agent explained to me, that $200 premium was a waste because it would require a situation literally unprecedented in US history.

Needless to say, I am looking into litigation options.

frick you and your “should have known”.

This is stupid.

The reason to send help to small businesses, if you are going to do it, is because if you don't you'll have tons of people who lose their jobs.

Small business employs tons of people in this country. Small businesses aren't going to be able to float several months of payroll without revenue.

This isn't about fairness or who deserves it. It's about making the most positive impact with any money that is spent.

It's not about who deserves it. Nobody "deserves" it.

But, it's better to help these businesses stay in business and keep employees employed than to give money to individuals only to have them without a job.

Risk that the government would basically shut down most of the economy over a viral outbreak that results in nothing more than common cold or minor flu symptoms for 98% of the population?

The loss of small businesses will be devestating BUT it represents a helluva an opportunity in a year or so for a young person with some liquididity over the next 6-8 months.

Give it to eerybody...... this thing is gonna hurt and eerybody gonna need either an infusion or creditors gonna have to take an old cold tater and wait........20% unemployment is shattering.......

We owe about $10k to the IRS from last year that I’m sitting on......I ain’t remitting that money until things normalize. Looks like we might even avoid penalties and interest but if not Im holding that money until at least the end of summer.

Our system is such that one can have a huge tax burden and corresponding security or no tax burden and be dependent. For 38 years I’ve busted arse to increase my tax burden every year....willingly....and if I’m physically able I’ll continue to do so for another 15 or so. I don’t like taxes but I make a conscious effort to earn as much as possible knowing full well that the more I earn the more I pay. I could easily be dependent and have little or no burden......but I like 18 year old scotch, cigars, Bill fishing and duck blinds so I get up by 4 everyday and don’t get back to house until about 7 because in the USA I can. I spend way more time enjoying the knowledge that I can afford the things in life that give me joy and very little time getting pissed off about my taxes....something that will cause you a lot of grief if you let it.
