LA has experienced the sharpest spike in cases in the US over the past couple of days, so it makes sense.

Exposure happened over Mardi Gras. Shouldn’t we be seeing hospitals overrun and bodies in the street by now??

It’s probably going to get worse before it gets better. My ol lady, a nurse who is scheduled to work tomorrow, got a call from her nurse friends currently there saying that if she has any n95 masks at home to bring them in to use. One of the receiving employees on the hospital dock stole their shipment to sell on the black market. By the time they narrowed down which employee it was and arrested him he had unloaded almost the whole thing. So now there’s about to be a shortage of nurses who are unwilling to go in without proper PPE.

It is worse in NOLa because that’s where the majority have tests have been done. Testing wasn’t being done in other parts of the state till just recently.
