Appreciate the information. Don't know where to post this PSA so here goes.
Was positive for C19 on 9/13. Last day in the office was 9/11. Spent 7 days in hospital and 2 were in ICU. No intubation but was considered as well as inquiries about DNR status. No doubt the infusion of C19 antibodies to be the life saver. Don't believe the R medicine to have been effective.
Remain on oxygen as lungs took a whipping. 02 levels were in the 70s. Purchase one of those 02 saturation fingertip things if concerned.
Am 64 and some change. Have opted for semi-retirement beginning this Friday. Wife believes she was the source - fortunately she had a mild course.
Will be happy to try to answer questions.
P.S. Proning is helpful but sitting up and crouching over is better...opens the back and lower reaches of one's lungs

So glad to hear you're coming out on the other side. Does "remain on oxygen" mean you're still on oxygen at home? Godspeed in your recovery.

Thank you. Yes I am and have just begun to reduce its use during waking hours - use at night per physician (seems our 02 lowers then). Have a portable when outside

Hopefully you continue to see a continued recovery as quickly as possible. Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad you're on the rebound. I'm curious given the difficulty you had - do you have any comorbidities that complicated your bout with C-19?

Thank you for answering my question.
It’s pretty interesting how little real information there is out there re: the virus. We are about 8 months into this thing and millions have/had the virus, but obvious questions (to me) have yet to even be asked, let alone answered.
A other question if you will - Are or were you ever a smoker?

Glad to hear you are doing better.
In our state high blood pressure is the number one common denominator among C-19 deaths. It was found in 52% of patients...second was diabetes at 30%.
Here's to you getting back to 100% soon .

I smoked for 31 years before quitting 4 years ago. Here is my Covid experience:
Day One: Headache, low grade fever, chills.
Day Two: Tested positive for Covid, headache, low grade fever.
Day Three: Symptoms greatly improved.
Day Four: Symptoms free.

Yes, pack a day until some 30 to 35 years ago

Interesting and have to assume how the lungs respond to the virus impacts the body's organs and high blood pressure must exacerbate the effects of the darn thing
Thank you....me too and I have an easier path than others, am hearing of pulmonary damage

I feel sorry for you and for anyone else who has to go through what you've been through. I pray for your full recovery.
I'm interested in COVID issues related to blood types and to vitamin D sufficiency.
Do you know your blood type?
If you know, were you vitamin D deficient before getting sick? Did your doctors give you vitamin D?

A+
No vitamin deficiencies
Given C, D and zinc
Liver was temporarily under stress due to dehydration
Weighed 200 pounds before, 186 when admitted to hospital - probably sick 5 days before hospitalization - waited too long - oxygen saturation upper 70s

I hate that you had to endure that, but I'm glad you have come out the backside with your feet on the ground.
Thank you for sharing your experience!!!

Why is no one talking about how shut downs have down nothing to stop the virus in Europe?
So their plan is to shut down again?
It is insanity

All of the increased testing and the media going crazy is pure political.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like you had good care. I worry most about the healthcare system getting overwhelmed. We can all help prevent that from happening.
