it's a bit like when a second Deathstar came from out of nowhere in RotJ. More believable than what happens in Rise of Skywalker, but they establish in the PT that it took 20 years to build the first one. Even if you take into account the time saved by already knowing "how" to build it, building and fitting out a moon-sized space station should take longer than the span of 2-3 years in between ESB and RotJ.
I liked Rise of Skywalker, and I think a signifcant part is an ability to recognize it's eventually all a movie.
Even the original trilogy, as great as it is, has the plot device moments. Heck, the single vent that could destroy Death Star 1 was essentially just a deus ex machina for Rebel victory until the backstory added through Rogue One.
Yeah, Rise of Skywalker has fan service plot moments that aren't that realistic, but I think people get picky with it in ways they don't with other movie franchises.

You know what? I don’t care. I quit caring about continuity after RJ decided to shite all over the established world building and character building in the canon stories and trade it for SJW messages. So it is what it is. I tried to rewatch TLJ before I saw RoS, and I didn’t make it past Leia Poppins.
FWIW, I enjoyed RoS. Yes it’s got a ton of holes. Yes it makes no sense in terms of the saga. But I enjoyed sitting through it and it kept me interested.
There are good stories in this universe. Clone Wars and Mandalorian proves that. And my hope is they’ll figure that out and build the world now that the Sith are “hopefully” dead.

Yeah, that made little sense to me.
There empire is long gone, the republic stands. But we can wipe out the entire republic with one shot of our limitless range weapon.
Resistance? Why would the people in charge have a resistance? Where they like a militia?
God these movies sucked.
All my life I wanted the complete story. Now I'll just have memories of the unmolested originals.

We live in a timeline where the only complete A Song of Ice and Fire may be a rush to to get to our Star Wars job, oops we blew it.

First rule in government spending: why build one when you can have two at twice the price?
