Democrats assumed that caucus and primary turnout would be gangbusters, driven by grassroots energy to defeat President Trump.
But New Hampshire painted a different picture, with a record 300,000 people turning out, blowing past the 288,000 who voted in the 2008 primary.
And now it appears that Nevada is headed for record turnout as well.
More than 75,000 people participated in the early caucuses, not far behind the 84,000 who voted in the contests for both parties in 2016.
The final numbers aren’t in yet, but early returns show that about half of the electorate in Nevada is voting for the first time. Nevada Democrats said they received 10,000 new applications to join the party over the week of early voting.

Whenever anything is considered "grassroots" when it comes to Democrat voters.. there's normally a billionaire funding everything from the back.

Bernie’s canvassing and voter activation drives are off the charts.

I trust the numbers, I think alot of rebublicans, indpendents and Russians are crossing over to vote. It certainly make for the down ballot candidate races interesting.

I'm glad these numbers are being reported, true or not. It should be a warning to Republicans not to get complacent in November. Bernie Sanders, if he is the nominee, will bring out a large and enthusiastic base come Election Day.
He being the nominee could do wonders for GOP turnout because no one on our side (save maybe Joe Walsh) wants a socialist in the White House.

What that article doesn’t state is NH and Nevada has way more registered Ds now then back in 2008 so looking at 2008 numbers vs now isn’t painting the full picture. You have to correlate the percent of registered voters to turnout.
Dems were expecting 350k in NH to break 2008. 47% of registered Dems voted in 2008 only 42% in 2020.
Nevada needs 160k to break 2008.

So fewer people voted early in 2020 than 2016 but that means Nevada is headed for record turnout? What?
